Advising in franchising is not a hobby, nor is it simple. When advising most businesses there are usually some common themes that are applicable to a number of other businesses. However, with franchising this is not always the case.  For example, the franchise agreement (the legal contract between franchisees and franchisors) is different to many other business agreements and to try to adapt such agreements to franchising can be damaging to the business. You should also consider that franchisees, although under agreement to operate under an agreed brand and system, are in fact running their own businesses. This can complicate legal, strategic, accountancy and other financial decisions.

Please do ensure that you fully understand all of the intricacies of franchising before advising clients. If you have any questions or you would like some guidance, contact us and we will endeavour to point you in the right direction.
