EXPANSION ON THE CARDS FOR EAST ANGLIAN DRAIN DOCTORS
 From covering the Cambridge area in 2003, Drain Doctor Plumbing franchisees David and Sharon Spurrier have expanded to serve three territories – meaning that they are well on their way to meeting their ambition of becoming the best and largest emergency plumbing company in the East of England.
David, 40, and Sharon, 38 have branched out and now operate the Colchester and Ipswich and Norwich franchises. This has enabled them to grow their customer base and their turnover.
David said: “There is no secret to our success – it is just a simple combination of a lot of hard work and dedication to the Drain Doctor Plumbing system. This has been proven to work time and time again and it gives franchisees a huge head start in business.
“We chose to move into the Colchester and Ispwich area earlier this year because it borders our existing areas and was an exciting opportunity for us to continue towards fulfilling our mission statement – to become to the best and largest emergency plumbing and drainage company in East Anglia.”
Launched in the United Kingdom in 1993, Drain Doctor Plumbing has quickly grown to become the country’s largest emergency plumbing and drain repair service. It now provides a 24 hour a day, 365 days a year service in every part of the country with each franchise run as an independent business.
The central principle is to deliver dazzling levels of service in a market plagued by cowboy operators who are overcharging customers for shoddy workmanship.
David made a dramatic career change to take up his first Drain Doctor Plumbing franchise, serving Cambridge and the surrounding towns and villages. He had previously spent 14 years in public service roles. Although these were unrelated to plumbing, he did develop leadership and management skills – perfect for running a Drain Doctor Plumbing franchise.
