Fulfilling a Dream
Middlesex, 14 May 2010 With his experience as a skilled Royal Navy technician, Paul Cordingley has proved to be an ideal candidate to own a gas-elec Safety Inspection Franchise.
Paul spent 14 years sailing the world in frigates, but today you'll find him in a van around the West Midlands helping to ensure that people don't asphyxiate or electrocute themselves with unsafe or incorrectly-installed gas and electrical equipment!
Under legislation that came into effect a few years ago all gas and electrical appliances and installations in UK rented properties must be checked once a year and certified safe.
"We make use of the latest gas analysers, appliance testers and installation equipment to ensure that systems are safe," says Paul.
"It's a business that's driven by the law, requiring annual inspections in a variety of sectors. We provide thousands of safety inspections for landlords, managing agents, homeowners, buyers and sellers," says John Davidson, gas-elec Founder and Managing Director.
Leaving the navy some ten years ago, Paul was anxious to work independently and looked for a franchise in which he could use his technical expertise.
"I went to a franchise exhibition and returned with four carrier bags full of stuff, but only gas-elec seemed to tick all the boxes. My navy experience of working on everything from hydraulics and air conditioning to electronics and gas turbines gave me plenty of qualifications and a really good basic knowledge to bring to the gas-elec franchise," adds Paul.
On all member companies you can gain information about the business easily and quickly by using the Information Request button on the listing. |
