Different backgrounds in franchising

As franchising has developed over the years, so the number of businesses that choose to franchise has increased. For example, in 1995 the industry consisted of 474 different brands but by 2010 this number had increased to 900.

With this growth comes increased interest and, consequently, increased diversity amongst the groups of people who are attracted to this business model. Everyone is different and has different motives and requirements. However, in this section we have put together some information relating to a few key groups of people that tend to look at franchising as an ideal next step.

Of course, in reality there is no typical franchisee and the industry attracts people from all walks of life.
