European Franchise Survey
The European Franchise Survey and the Supplement "Progress & Prospects 1998" were commissioned by the European Franchise Federation (EFF), sponsored by NatWest Banking Group in the UK, with research by the British Franchise Association.
The comprehensive European Franchise Survey, published in August 1997, provides an in-depth, country by country report on each European franchise market. For each country the Survey:
- Reports on the general commercial climate
- Discusses the development and future of franchising
- Identifies inbound and outbound franchise systems
- Gives details of the franchise association and its member companies
The Supplement both updates aspects of the Survey and brings forward new analysis, reporting on the Progress and identifying the Prospects for franchising in Europe towards the Millennium.
Whether you are an existing or potential European entrant, consultant or other interested party, the Supplement gives 'at a glance' information, including:
- Which European countries have the highest value of franchising turnover
- Which have the most franchise systems
- Which countries appear the most accommodating to incoming franchisors
- How market sectors vary between countries
- Who are Europe's "Top 40" identified franchises
- What challenges European legislation has for the franchise industry
A Note from NatWest - the Survey Sponsors
Natwest has been involved in franchising since 1981 and has lent many millions of pounds to franchisees and franchisors.
It is our pleasure to have sponsored this first published review of franchising in europe which includes franchisors who are developing not only in their own countries, but also elsewhere in Europe.
The future for franchising in Europe is bright and the number of Pan European franchisors is likely to grow at an increasing pace. We hope that further EFF/NatWest Surveys will track this development.
Peter D. Stern, Natwest Retail Banking Services
