Case Study - Neil Shelbourne
Having worked for Cash Generator for many years at its Head Office in a number of roles, Neil has witnessed first hand the impressive growth of the discount retailer.
A testament to the exciting future of Cash Generator, Neil has chosen to invest in the brand, opening his first Cash Generator franchise store late last year. His aim is to open multiple stores across the North, capitalising on Cash Generator’s buy, sell and loan concept.
“I have worked for Cash Generator for a long time now, watching the company expand from 30 stores to over 140 stores. It has been a formidable journey.
“With Cash Generator continuing to grow, I wanted to be part of the company’s plans. Discount retail continues to flourish in the current climate and with our commitment to the buying and selling of nearly new products, consumers can enjoy a unique shopping experience on the high street.”
Swapping his desk for the shop floor, Neil invested in a Cash Generator franchise in December 2010, opening his first store in Northwich, Cheshire.
As Neil approaches his first quarter of trading, he comments: “Over the last three months, I have witnessed consumers visit my store time and time again, browsing leisurely and picking up bargains. Trade has been buoyant. We are the only store of its kind in Northwich and I aim to utilise my past experience to ensure we remain popular with local shoppers.”
Confident that his transition to franchising has been the right move, Neil adds: “Cash Generator is a well established national brand, and as the company continues to grow, I too am looking to expand my portfolio of stores.”
