Company Overview

Home Owners are spending large amounts of money on building work that is recommended in the hope of curing condensation, mould and damp without actually finding the source.  Damp Detectives Franchisees are trained Independent unbiased surveyors who can accurately track damp, mould and condensation to the source. They have their own websites and the customer’s book and pay them directly. Start up and running costs are very low and you are in complete control of your own business. 

Franchise Overview

We cover from Lands End to the edge of London, the whole of Wales and the North West with a total of 6 franchises.

All our territories are new. We expect to cover the whole of the UK and Northern Ireland with a total of 20 franchises.

None of our units are company owned.

We have been franchising for 4 years and intend to expand into Europe and America when the UK is covered.

Training

Training consists of simple modules by internet on basic Meteorology, physics, and biology to gain an understanding of moisture. Followed by a 1-week classroom course, which looks at customer relations, how buildings are affected by moisture, use of instruments, survey procedures and report writing.  After this, you are accompanied on your surveys until you are confident to be on your own. You start earning on your first survey. 

Daily Life of a Franchisee

Franchisees operate from home with their own website. Customers communicate directly and surveys are arranged by appointment with the franchisees.

Using their own vehicles franchisees travel to customers’ homes to conduct surveys.

Reports may be given verbally or written depending on agreement with the customer and price.

The franchisee is paid directly by the customer.
