Case Study - Ian Perris
In 2005 Ian Perris was looking for a new direction to his career, following a successful time, managing a number of businesses he was looking to develop his own business but in a relatively stress free environment.
“I stumbled on the idea of Lawn care whilst holidaying in Cumbria, following some research it became obvious to me that Greensleeves offered the best package and opportunity for me to develop what I was looking for, a multi-van professional and specialist business.
The initial support and training have been fantastic, but most of all the marketing package that Greensleeves have developed yielded real results. At the end of my first year I have exceeded both my own budget and the forecasts that were put to me prior to signing my agreement.”
Ian’s business has proved so successful in the first year that he has looked at ways of making sure he can take advantage of the potential going forward.
“I have had had the opportunity to bring my son Simon into the operation, I am delighted to give him a secure future and some control over his own destiny. Again Greensleeves have fully trained him and between us we have bought a second territory and plan to expand our operation across the whole of the Belfast area. Simon has taken to the work straight away and at 23 has a different view of things in terms of the longer term business potential.”
In 2006 Ian developed 320 new customers and has been amazed that over 95% have remained loyal to the service and continued to recommend new clients to Greensleeves.
“It is the best testament to a business that if the customers are happy enough to recommend their friends and family they must be delighted with the service. It is why Greensleeves are successful, their commitment to customer service is the best I have experienced, having considered doing this service myself I am now convinced I have done the right thing and would recommend the franchise route to anybody considering starting their own business. The benefits are many and make success significantly more likely”.
