In 2008, the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts launched the franchise of its part time performing arts academy for four to 19 year-olds. It is the only stage school franchise linked into an established performing arts institute. LIPA was founded by Sir Paul McCartney and Mark Featherstone-Witty in 1995.
