Case Study - Adam Osmond

Adam Osmond has become the youngest Mac Tools franchise holder in the country. The 26-year-old has taken on the Mac Tools franchise for the Cambridge and the Royston area and has spent the last few months learning all about the business.

The former motor mechanic and cable TV technician has completed his training and has spent the last few weeks making contact with potential customers in his area. “I had been working for a cable TV company for the last couple of years but I didn’t really think it was for me, I felt I wasn’t really going anywhere with my career. With Mac Tools I am building a business for the future and I have a real stake in it.

“I looked around at other franchises but opted for Mac Tools because of the quality of the product and the reputation of the firm. There is plenty to learn and it is taking up all of my time but I am sure it will be worth it in the end. I am learning something new every day.”

And if all that was not enough the ambitious Adam is also in the middle of planning his marriage to fiancée Lisa Rumbelow. He said: “You could say it has been a busy couple of months and I have got my hands full but I am loving every minute of it. It feels like there is something new to learn every day. You don’t realise how much is involved in running your own franchise and it is a real challenge but well worth it.”

Adam, who lives in Milton just outside Cambridge, will be selling top of the range tools direct to the motor trade in the area. Thanks to his love of cars and the tools, he knows the motor trade inside out and has been looking to set up on his own for several months. He explained: “There was a gap in the market and I just went for it. I have been out and about talking to potential customers and there has already been plenty of interest. I am feeling really confident and the response has been great even though it has only been a couple of weeks.”

Adam will be tying the knot at the start of September but most of his time has been spent concentrating on the launch of the franchise whilst Lisa has organised the whole wedding. He said: “There is so much to do and it takes up all of my spare time but it is really worth it. We have even decided to take just a few days holiday for the honeymoon so I can get back to the business as soon as possible. Lisa has been fantastic, I wouldn’t have been able to do all of this without her support.”
