Case Study - Andrew Joinson
Andrew Joinson, 27, has a degree in Sports Industry Management and Football Studies. He spent 5 years coaching football and basketball before starting his own Premier Sport Franchise in the Sussex, Brighton, Worthing, Eastbourne, Haywards Heath, Hastings and Bognor areas.
Andrew invested £3,500 from the start. He’s hoping to be running 3 successful franchises with each of them turning over in excess of £250k per year.
“I did my degree in sports industry management and football studies. Alongside this I did a lot of coaching which I loved and knew that’s where I wanted to be.
When I started in 2005 I managed to get 5 PPA contracts and 8 clubs booked in after only 8 promotional days. Since then the company has developed to support a team of coaches delivering over 20 PPA contracts and 80 clubs per week.
The hardest part about running a franchise is understanding business and not just delivering coaching sessions. But the best part is I’m my own boss and the fate of my business is in my own hands.
For some children, sport is the Vessel they use to achieve their aims and objectives. If you can get the children active and healthy now then hopefully they will continue to participate in the coming years”.
