Innovative franchisee recruitment show Franchise Opportunities Live, which took place on the 7 & 8 September at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow hotel, has been heralded as a resounding success following unified praise from attending brands.
The new format was acclaimed by franchisors for delivering on its promise of matching high quality, pre-
qualified and knowledgeable prospective franchisees with their business. In addition the venue, atmosphere and style of the show created an environment conducive to more
in-depth conversations with walk-in delegates.
As with all bfa-approved shows, all exhibitors were accredited by the bfa with free educational seminars available throughout both days. The result is an educational and informative structure, rather than one of sales or pressure.
Bev Regan, head of franchising for aspect.co.uk, reflected the general thoughts of attending franchisors: “I found this change in format created a significant difference and feel to the whole exhibition practice. This type of venue seemed to create a more intimate, professional and business atmosphere.
“One of the differences seemed to be that people readily walked on to the stands to approach the franchisors instead of the franchisors looking to ‘pounce’ as people walked past, the coffee area was conducive to sitting down to talk to people.”
Graeme Duckworth, franchise sales director for Driver Hire, said: “We were kept busy all day and were pleased with the quality and number of meetings we had – both pre-booked and unplanned. The event works well.”
David Paulson, franchise recruitment manager of TaxAssist Accountants, added: “The quality of visitors has been excellent and we like the format and environment. It’s great to have good long conversations with serious prospects.”
