Driver Hire announces regional management moves 08/10/2012 11:34

Michael Wakeham, who is taking responsibility for Midlands operationsSpecialist transport and logistics recruiter Driver Hire has announced a number of management changes to its regional and managed office team.

There’s a new man looking after Driver Hire’s franchised offices in the Midlands, Michael Wakeham, who has been appointed to the role of area development manager. Before joining Driver Hire, Michael had his own recruitment company, supplying accountancy staff to business and industry.

The south west region also has a new area development manager, Andy Wales. Andy is a former professional golfer, and has worked in transport and logistics recruitment for the past decade.

Finally, David de Lacy-Jones is the company’s new regional manager, based in the Bedford 'super-office'. David has 20 years experience in recruitment for the transport and logistics industry. He said: “Whilst principally a franchise business, Driver Hire is expanding its managed network too. Initially we’re concentrating on opening offices in the M1 corridor which aren’t currently covered by our network. Long-term, once these offices are successfully established, we’ll be looking, where appropriate, to sell the franchise, or enter a joint venture partnership with the incumbent management team.”
