Local home care company, Caremark (Chelmsford & Uttlesford) underwent an inspection recently by their local authority’s Quality Improvement Team.
A highly detailed inspection was carried out at the offices of the care company, using the Association of Directors Adult Social Services (ADASS) workbook with every detail double checked against printed files and online records.
Clients and care workers were interviewed and an inspector went out to observe care workers during their care calls.
George Purser, Contracts Manager (Adults) and Liz Prior, Quality Improvement Officer with Essex County Council were complimentary in their initial feedback following the inspection with the final completed ADASS workbook reflecting an outstanding score of 100% across the board.
Following the inspection, Liz Prior contacted Tanya George, Managing Director of the Essex home care company and said, “The report is based upon the areas assessed on the visit. As you will see, the overall score is 100%.
I would like to thank you for your time and the hard work your service has put into ensuring that the service users in your service have the best quality of care in Essex.”
“I am sure you can appreciate we are all delighted,” said Tanya George, “the inspection was so thorough, almost forensic, so we are really pleased with the result.
“Following this, we have been approached with regards to working with the PROSPER team on raising the profile of care and carers in Essex.”
The PROSPER (Promoting Safer Provision of care for elderly residents) initiative is funded by The Health Foundation and aims to improve safety and reduce harm for care home residents across North East and West Essex.
