Monkey Music celebrates 20 years of franchising 13/07/2017 11:13

One of the first female franchisors ever to join the British Franchise Association (bfa), Monkey Music founder and CEO, Angie Coates is celebrating 20 years of franchising across the UK.

Monkey Music Conference

As a musician and teacher, Angie knew that exposure to music would be beneficial for her first new-born baby. Finding a lack of music classes to attend, she wrote a musical curriculum that supported all aspects of early child development. Her own daughter and local friends attended the first classes when Monkey Music opened in South East London in 1993. Rapid growth led to the company being franchised, and Monkey Music has been a member of the bfa since 2003.

Now something of cult hit in many areas of the country, over 12,000 families attend classes in over 300 venues each week. Monkey Music is widely recognised as a ‘leading light’ in pre-school music education, and Angie is delighted to have recently published a series of two children’s books with Macmillan Books.

To celebrate 20 years of franchising, Angie is launching a brand new initiative which is designed to offer more people the opportunity open a franchise in areas where Monkey Music has yet to hit!
