Mac Tools has announced that two more franchisees have launched their van-based businesses with the company. David Gauld and Kevin Norton have taken to the road in their respective territories this autumn. 

Kevin has worked in vehicle engineering and workshop organisation for the past 23 years. His work has taken him not only to many different parts of the UK but also to other countries in Europe as well as the USA, Africa and the Middle East. He found that it was time for a new endeavour and is now operating the Salford territory.

He commented: “I chose to apply for a Mac Tools franchise because they have a strong brand name and sell well-known high-quality tools. It gives me the opportunity to work for myself and to enjoy the rewards of my new endeavours, as my experience in engineering also gives me a great insight into the product and my customers.” 

David was also looking for a fresh challenge when he took to the driver’s seat with Mac Tools in Glasgow. He has worked with cars for the majority of his career and has owned a garage for five years. Mac Tools offered him the change of direction that he was looking for while still giving him the opportunity to capitalise on his extensive experience in the automotive industry. 

During their launch and opening weeks, both Kevin and David have received hands-on training and support. David says: “The training was very helpful and comprehensive. I’m still in the process of having my regional franchise manager on the road with me. He provides me with great support which really helps me to keep on track.”
