Bluebird Care awarded coveted full membership of the British Franchise Association

Andrew Quail

Bluebird Care has marked the end of a highly successful year by securing full membership of the British Franchise Association (BFA).

The announcement is excellent news for both Bluebird Care and prospective franchise owners as it endorses the home care provider's first-class trading and franchising records.

Andrew Quail, Head of Standards and Compliance at the BFA said: "The British Franchise Association is pleased to welcome Bluebird Care into full membership. Our quality standards for reaching this level are set high, deliberately, and to reach this demanding level a franchisor company has to demonstrate to us that they are worthy of this level of membership."

The BFA is the professional governing body for franchising in the UK. It strives to help people make more informed choices about the best franchise on the market for them. All members are vetted against a strict code of business practice and full members must have a proven trading and franchising record.

The fastest-growing care provider in the UK, Bluebird Care is a management franchise where franchise owners recruit and manage staff who provide care in people's homes. This choice of social care is the Government's - and often the individual's - preferred choice.

Franchise Director Simon Dalziel said: "We are delighted to be awarded full membership status in recognition of the achievements and standards we operate to as a franchise. We have an extremely successful franchise network throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland, all operating to the high Bluebird Care standards."

Petersfield-based Bluebird Care, which has 66 offices across the UK and Republic of Ireland, now provides around 45,000 care visits a month – a growth of 105 per cent on last November.

It has retained its position as the UK's fastest growing provider of care at home with a group turnover of around £12 million. Simon Dalziel added: "2009 saw Bluebird Care franchised businesses achieving annualised turnover of over £1million and we are confidently expecting many more Bluebird Care franchise owners to join them in 2010."
