BRITISH FRANCHISE ASSOCIATION FLIES THE UK FRANCHISING FLAG AT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
The British Franchise Association (bfa) was recently invited to speak at the Philippine Franchise Association’s 14th Annual Conference and Expo in Manila.
The Conference, which took place on 13th July, was the focal point of the four day event as international representatives of franchising came together to share knowledge and discuss the latest developments from their regions.
The bfa’s presence at the Conference was funded by the Philippine Franchise Association and British Consulate in Manila.
Invited to represent the UK franchising industry, Dan Archer, Head of Marketing at the bfa, spoke to delegates about the UK franchise sector, its history and the bfa’s view on international expansion. His seminar, entitled ‘Importing and exporting franchise concepts’ covered the practical aspects of introducing a brand to the UK and the importance of understanding the nature of UK franchisees and franchisors.
Members of the bfa with international operations were also given the opportunity to have their literature on display, with well known names such as Toni & Guy, Antal International, Stagecoach, and many more being showcased.
Speaking after the event, Dan Archer commented, “It has been a real honour to speak at the PIFCE 2006 and represent UK franchising. The success of this conference and exhibition is indicative of the strong franchise market in the Philippines and their interest towards franchising in the global marketplace. It is an important element of the bfa’s work that we continue to maintain awareness of the UK franchise sector but the most satisfying part of my 2 days was the undeniable enthusiasm and governmental support for franchising in the Philippines.”
