The British Franchise Association’s Scottish Forum represents the British Franchise Association (BFA) in Scotland. Previously known as the Franchise Group for Scotland the Forum brings together the Champions for ethical franchising in Scotland and aims to further build on the success of franchising across the country.

From the 2008 NatWest/bfa Scottish Franchise Survey, the Scottish market was recognised as one of the most vibrant in the UK, making a substantial and growing contribution each year to the Scottish economy. At that point the survey showed that over the past ten years the number of systems operating in Scotland had grown significantly from 346 to 493.

The same report showed that most (67%) franchisees worked in full time employment before owning a franchise, which demonstrates the number of people coming out of company employment and realising the potential of franchising. The report also showed that 90% of all franchisees (including the newest start-ups) were in profit, highlighting that it is significantly more successful than other business start-ups.

The British Franchise Association’s Franchise Group for Scotland is represented by the following brands in Scotland: AMO Consulting, British Franchise Association, French Duncan, Harper Macleod LLP, Lloyds TSB, Moreland Insurance, NatWest Scotland, Royal Bank Of Scotland, Scottish Enterprise, Select Appointments, Snap on Tools, Travail Employment Group, www.whichfranchise.com.
