Scottish Franchise Week in 2011

Scottish Franchise Week Sponsors

The eighth Scottish Franchise Week, sponsored by Lloyds TSB and Whichfranchise.com, took place from the 16th to 20th May with a series of events presented with the bfa's focus on Scotland.

During the week the bfa worked with the media across the country to bring forward stories, advice and case studies that all help to represent the realities and opportunities of running a franchise business.

One of the highlights of the week was the Scottish Business Breakfast which took place on Wednesday 18th May at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel and included presentations from leading Scottish entrepreneur, Ian Adie, owner of Business Incentives Group (BIG) and Thomas Kelly, Vice President Franchising at McDonald’s Restaurants. The event attracted nearly 300 delegates from media insiders to business experts. The breakfast serves as the ideal platform for businesses from across the country to discover more about the importance and impact of franchising.

Other events which took place throughout the week included a golf day at the Westwood Hotel and Golf Resort at the foot of the Campsie Hills and a social evening at Hummingbird in Glasgow. A variety of seminars were also held throughout the week, including a bfa specialist seminar: ‘maximising network performance and profitability’, as well as both prospective franchisor and franchisee seminars aimed at newcomers to the industry.

Our thanks go to Lloyds TSB, whichfranchise.com and Business Franchise Magazine for their kind support.
