Businesswomen across franchising and beyond gathered once again at the bfa’s annual Empowering Women in Business (EWIB) on October 21st.
This year’s event was a major success! We had speakers from a wide range of professional backgrounds, each sharing their expertise and inspiring women to fulfil their potential. We had the likes of Linda Papadopoulos, Psychologist & Commentator, take questions from the audience on topics around confidence and common differences of working and communications styles between men and women, and share challenges she’s overcome throughout her career.
Speaker sessions covered the emotional, financial and practical elements to running a business – from sessions on mental health, marketing and networking.
At the end of the event, the bfa spoke to attendees to hear their experience of the day and what they enjoyed most about EWIB:
- “EWIB’s been really important to me, generally in my working career, because it gives me an opportunity to talk with other women facing the same challenges, in a really safe space, where we can just engage about what’s going on – maybe just of the moment, but also the greater issues that we face.” – EWIB attendee
- “I came to EWIB today, because I really wanted to meet up with people face-to-face again. I met a load of new people, a lot of friendly faces. It’s just been great, really inspirational. It’s fabulous to see new people coming into the industry and being really passionate about it. Lets hope that continues!” – – EWIB attendee
- “So I’ve attended EWIB really with a view to meeting new people in franchising, but also to catch up with people I’ve known for the past odd 20 years. It’s been fantastic to see people after so long not seeing them face-to-face. I’ve come to these events over the past ten years they’ve been running, and it’s always amazing – I come away with hints, tips and inspired by the great speakers.” – – EWIB attendee
- “The conference was amazing and one of the best conferences I have ever attended. All the speakers were inspirational and uplifting. There is so many points I have taken away from the day and even simple things like work and life balance is so important…I am super excited and motivated to put what I have learnt from the conference into action and thank you for such an energising day!” – Katie Bateman, FranchiseShow247
