Anytime Fitness exercising growth plans with sweet 16th

Anytime Fitness has shown rapid UK expansion with 13 new clubs opened in the last 12 months, taking the number of clubs open to 16 in total for the franchise.

“Almost 70 territories have already been sold and our growth is accelerating not slowing,” Karl Dietrich, sales & marketing director, says. “For example, we currently have 16 clubs open in the UK and are aiming for 22-25 sites open by the end of the year. We provide our franchisees with all the support they need including help with premises, state-of-the-art technology, marketing and training to help them achieve both theirs and their member’s goals.”

Karl attributes the aggressive expansion to being part of a global brand and offering high-quality support to franchisees. “We are extremely unique and offer a proven franchise business model in an industry that continues to thrive even with the challenging economic climate,” he says. “Owners can become their own boss and spend as much or as little time as they wish working in the business.”

The brand’s credentials are well-established; Anytime Fitness was recognised as the 6th best franchise (up from 11th last year) in Entrepreneur Magazine’s 2013 ‘Franchise 500’ list in the USA, overtaking franchising giants including McDonald’s in this year’s rankings (they were the highest-ranked fitness franchise featured). Earlier this year Forbes ranked Anytime Fitness 14th in its annual list of ‘America’s Most Promising Companies’.

With over 2,245 clubs in 14 countries, and a club opening every working day around the world, the company has grown rapidly since it was founded in 2002. Karl expects that growth to continue in the UK, adding: “There really isn’t a better time to invest in Anytime Fitness. With just 12% of the population currently using a health and fitness centre but 24% saying they would consider using one, there is a great opportunity to help people in your local community to start getting active.”
