Bluebird Care, the largest UK care at home franchisor with 180 offices in the UK and Republic of Ireland, has announced it has become part of the Interim Healthcare Inc. Group, based in Florida, USA.
Interim Healthcare Inc., who have purchased both the franchise business and the two company-owned offices, are the longest-established US care franchisor having been founded in 1966. They currently have over 300 franchised offices throughout the US.
Kathleen Gilmartin, president and CEO of Interim Healthcare Inc. Group, said: “Our interest in Bluebird Care was driven by the fact the founders have created a durable, scalable and profitable model of care delivered by a strong network of franchise owners. The fit within the Interim Healthcare Group is good, as we have a large successful franchise network throughout the USA.”
Paul Tarsey, Bluebird Care managing director and co-founder, agreed: “We are very excited by this strategic partnership with such an experienced care franchisor as Interim. Bluebird Care will now have access to knowledge and shared best practices in care delivery, training, marketing and financial benchmarks to fuel innovation and improve efficiencies in both brands. Both companies will retain their own brand identity, which will cement our position still further as a major provider of care in the UK and Republic of Ireland and our aim of being the care provider of choice.”
The senior management team of Bluebird Care, comprising Paul Tarsey, Simon Dalziel and Lisa Tarsey, will remain with the company, enabling the franchise to execute its continued growth strategy in the UK. The business will continue to be run from its head office in Petersfield, Hampshire.
Paul concluded: “Bluebird Care has created exciting and profitable opportunities for its franchise network. This merger can only increase opportunities and put the company in a much stronger position to meet the challenges of the changing UK care market. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with Interim to expand care at home across the continents.”
