The British Franchise Association and DC Thomson have partnered to create an exclusive 24 page online supplement on franchising for a portfolio of titles owned by the publisher to coincide with Scottish Franchise Week.
The supplement will be included on the websites of The Courier, Evening Telegraph, Press & Journal and Evening Express, four of DC Thomson’s titles, with a cumulative reach of up to 4.5 million users.
The supplement will feature content around the fundamentals of franchising, as well as a series of franchisee case study led content and an introduction from Pip Wilkins, CEO of the bfa, highlighting the positive trends in the industry and opportunities for prospects in the Scottish marketplace.
Furthermore, the supplement will be distributed at key DC Thomson business events, with other 3,000 copies being printed for events including the Courier Awards, the Dundee Business Breakfast, the Aberdeen Business Breakfast and disseminated to contacts across Scotland.
The supplement has advertising slots available exclusive to bfa members.
Pip Wilkins commented: “This partnership is a mutually beneficial arrangement that will really show the positive trends in franchising to a wider audience.
“This is part of a number of strategic arrangements in the pipeline at the British Franchise Association as we continue to focus on being the leading educators in franchising both within the industry and outside it too.”
The supplement focally aims to highlight Scottish Franchise Week, an imperative event on the bfa calendar created to help franchising in Scotland become a billion pound business by 2021, happening on the week commencing September 9. The agenda includes prospect franchisee and prospect franchisor seminars, a Scottish forum, the Social Evening, the Business Breakfast at the Radisson in Glasgow and Franchise Opportunities.
Scottish Franchise Week is sponsored by HSBC, Platinum wave and Coconut Creatives.
DC Thomson acquired Aceville Publications last year, which has What Franchise and Global Franchise in its portfolio. The supplement is part of an initiative by DC Thomson and the bfa to increase the exposure of the industry to a wider audience to show the benefits a career in franchising can offer.
