Owner of Home Instead Wirral, Cath Chalton, not only manages an award-winning home care franchise, but is also flying the flag for the franchise sector as a whole.
Cath is a long-term Home Instead franchisee, having established her franchise with her husband, Mike in 2007. Not only is their franchise rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC, but has also received many awards and recognitions over their years both in the social care sector and franchise, including being named as the bfa ‘Franchisee of the Year’.
Cath is also an advocate for franchise, having served on the board of the bfa since 2013. In 2020, She was named as the ‘2020 Franchisee of the Year’ in the NatWest Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF) Awards, recognising her efforts in supporting other women into the franchise sector.
Highly active in her local community, her office has set up and is running their own charitable arm ‘The Wirral Care Foundation’, supporting small, local initiatives who may otherwise struggle to get funding.
She is also supporting the fight against Covid-19 in her local community. As an experienced vaccinator, Cath has been vaccinating care home residents and home bound patients in their own homes, firstly for flu vaccines in 2020 and then Covid-19 vaccines in 2021.
Cath comments: “I am passionate about caring, wherever and whenever I can and I have been proud to help support colleagues in the care home sector and our NHS, at this difficult time.”
She added, “I found Home Instead through a desire to provide high-quality home care for anyone who needs it, but through this amazing network I have also found franchise- something which I’m now as passionate about as caring. I’m glad to be able to represent Home Instead, but also to advise other people about entering the franchise sector, which is full of so many opportunities.”
