Ruth Brown is the Director of Business Development at Home Instead UK. Since joining Home Instead in 2010, Ruth has grown the franchise network from 25 owners to 226 Home Instead owners in 2021.
Not only does Ruth play a key role in Home Instead’s franchise development, but she also plays an important role in the franchise sector more widely, as she sits on the board of the bfa, and is an enthusiastic advocate for ethical franchising.
Entering the world of franchising after she has finished university, Ruth has worked across various sectors including van-based, retail and care. Personally drawn to Home Instead due to first-hand experience of finding good quality care for her grandmother, Ruth not only champions franchising but is truly invested in the mission and ethos of Home Instead- to ‘change the face of ageing’.
Ruth’s role is focused on the growth and development of the Home Instead network, which ranges from bringing new franchisees on board to partnering with companies who share the company’s values, to deliver the best range of services to Home Instead clients.
She comments: “I’m passionate about franchising, I’ve seen the positive impact it can have on the lives of individuals, families and communities. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be able to support new business owners as they embark upon their journey because I know the rewards that await them.
“In my position on the board of the bfa, I have the opportunity to engage with like-minded professionals who share my passion for franchising. Together we are able to use our skills and experience to promote the excellent work of the industry and engage other franchises for the benefit of the entire network.”
