Showcasing the inspirational stories of women in business

In the run up to the bfa’s Empowering Women in Business event, held on November 15, at the Nottingham Belfry and supported by NatWest, the bfa are looking to showcase inspiring stories of women in the franchise industry and business in general throughout the next three months. These will be presented on our website, through social media platforms and other outlets, celebrating and sharing in the successes of females in business.

We want to support our franchisors, franchisees and affiliates, giving their voice a platform within the business community and inspiring women who might want to join the franchising sector, as well as hearing stories of successful businesswomen in general.

If you are a woman in business or know a woman in business with a story to tell, either how you got into franchising, business, or why you decided to change careers or pursue your dreams, we want to showcase you and inspire more women to share their experiences.

Themes of the campaign
To tie in with the Empowering Women in Business objectives, the themes for the editorial campaign will revolve around:
·        Leadership; rise to power, leadership style, mentors, awards
·        Culture; overcoming obstacles, breaking down walls and rebuilding, women supporting women
·        Well-being; balancing responsibilities, struggles, needs, teamwork

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the bfa, said: “Women make up half of the UK population but only 17% are business owners so it is important we recognise and celebrate these women in leadership roles. This campaign is designed to champion women in the workforce and for us to hear their incredible stories.”

Getting involved in our editorial campaign
We want to hear from women in franchising and business, so send in your case studies and stories by contacting press@thebfa.org. In the first instance, let us know why you want to nominate somebody, or why you would be a great person to use in our campaign and how they chime with the themes of the bfa’s Empowering Women in Business event.

We have very few slots available, so don’t be disappointed if you are not included in this particular campaign.
