Cargo2Go’s Leeds & Wakefield Franchise Sees Record End to Year

2020 proved a challenging year for many businesses and individuals, and at Cargo2Go it was no different. The initial impact of the first lockdown in April saw an understandable dip in business activity and turnover. However, after an initial period of readjustment, the business was able to identify certain customers and new business opportunities that were performing well during the pandemic.

For example, by focusing on specific customers who were serving the medical and NHS related sectors, and the food and drink service industries, we were able to finish the year on a high. So much so we recorded our record turnover for the months of November & December in nearly ten years of trading. Whether it was delivering hospital beds, essential medical supplies and critical PPE equipment to the medical industry, or food and drink supplies and ingredients to home delivery food providers, the second half of the year saw a very strong uptick in business.

Cargo2Go franchise owner Jim Mosley explains, “From what was an uncertain time in the middle of the year, to be able to do this demonstrates the strength of the business offering and the support we are given as a franchise. It also demonstrates the overall robustness of the courier and logistic sector both now and in the future. It has given us a great deal of confidence that our business can handle what the economy throws at it: – pandemics, lockdowns, mutants, new normals or whatever. As the vaccine program accelerates the return to business normality, we are in a very strong position to further benefit from this as well.

Jim continues, “For anybody considering a career change or is evaluating various franchise opportunities, I would strongly recommend the courier and logistics sector as a robust, exciting and growing place to be. While no business can claim to be covid-proof, we have certainly shown that the courier sector is a strong as any out there in handling the turbulence it has created.”

Cargo2Go have territories available all over the country, and are particularly keen to expand in the Midlands, London and the south east.
