CEO Update, 17th August

“Last week I had the opportunity to get involved in our Franchisee Power and talk to one of the franchisee representatives from our Board. I think the messages below from Catharine Chalton truly highlight why franchisee engagement is so important and why franchisees and franchisors alike should support this. Our industry has come along way since we first started talking about franchisee membership and I’m proud of the way some of our members are embracing this new initiative.”

Franchisee Membership
Last Tuesday’s Franchisee Power Hour was with Cath Chalton, Home Instead Senior Care Franchisee. We asked Cath why she believes Franchisee Membership is something franchisees should sign up for and also why she feels Franchisors should get behind Franchisee Membership and get their networks signed up. Here are Cath’s thoughts…

Why do you think Franchisee Membership with the bfa is so important?

How would you influence your Franchisor to encourage them to get their network involved with Free Franchisee Membership?

bfa Redundancy Campaign Towards the start of the month we launched a redundancy PR campaign, requesting your success stories and expert thoughts on franchising as an opportunity, post-redundancy.

With the furlough scheme coming to an end and the number of redundancies on the rise, we launched the campaign to promote franchising as a positive solution. We’ve received a fantastic number of success stories from you and excellent insights.

This member-led content is being published on it’s own feature page under ‘campaigns’ on our website – you can find it here. Over the next few weeks we’ll be picking out some of the most inspirational stories to share across social.

If you have a case study you’d like to share of a franchisee who joined you after redundancy or any thoughts/expert advice on choosing franchising over going it alone – get in touch! Send your info to: press@thebfa.org.

bfa HSBC Community Hero  It’s been wonderful to read so many heartwarming entries into our Community Hero campaign – thank you for all your entries so far.

As a reminder, this is an opportunity to recognise acts of kindness and support seen throughout COVID-19. Anyone can be nominated, franchisee, franchisee support staff, franchisors – anyone!

Send a statement as to why you’re nominating them (max. 250 words), a photo to represent the nomination and your social handles to press@thebfa.org by 30th September.

You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending”
