We’d like to give a huge thank you to all the swimmers who took part in our sponsored swim which ran between Monday 1 and Saturday 13 November. All money raised went to We are Beams, a small charity that supports disabled children and young people.
The fundraiser was held during our Sept-Dec badge assessment fortnight to boost swimmer commitment to achieve their latest distance swimming targets.
Sponsorship categories were designed to include all of our Swimstylers swimming levels, from Coral pre-schoolers onwards, so everyone could share in the joy of taking part. The three sponsorship categories for children were the number of:
- widths using armbands
- metres without armbands – 5m to 75m
- lengths – 100m to 1500m
Wanting the event to be as inclusive as possible, adult swimmers were encouraged to join in too.
We are Beams support disabled children and young people with learning difficulties, complex health needs, physical or sensory impairment, challenging behaviour, Autism or severe ADHD. The children’s charity was delighted to receive our cheque for £500 presented by teachers and pupils from the school.
