Providing you meet the seven non-negotiable attributes, the investment for an ActionCOACH franchise is £69k and the minimum performance expected is you build your annual net sales to £1 million gradually by year 11. This is something we’ve had a UK franchise owner achieve through just their own personal clients, but you’ll probably choose to build your revenue with the help of employee business coaches, who we’ll train for you for just £6k per coach.

Your business is based on intellectual property and extra profits pay for the service for your business owner clients inside 6 to 12 months guaranteed, so you can expect to grow your net pre-tax profit margin to over 50%. Training

We want to ensure our franchisees can fish for themselves rather than giving them a plate of fish and that’s why we run over 70 days of training and support each year! 

ActionCOACH offer those in due diligence full access to their network to understand the challenges and the nature of the business. You will also have the opportunity to see experienced franchisees delivering some of the products and services. Template Business Plans allow you to fully understand what is required from a financial perspective. 

If you’re awarded the franchise you’ll receive comprehensive training and support as soon as the franchise agreement is completed, and you have booked their place on initial 9-day classroom training (ActionCOACH University). You must conduct 4 weeks (15-35 hours) pre-training. This focused learning programme ensures new franchisees get the most out of ActionCOACH University.

Alan Brighton

Working just 3 1/2 days a week is luxury

After over 15 years in his ActionCOACH franchise, Alan Brighton is celebrating achieving a £16,000 monthly client income working just three and a half days a week. He remembers the time an executive coach and then a business coach proved instrumental in turning his career around – which now allows him to enjoy the finer things in life. 

“I was working in the car industry in Finland and hired one of the top business coaches in the country – we saw some remarkable results. The company started witnessing some incredible success and that intrigued me, helping my career. It showed how, although they’re called a ‘business coach’, the repercussions are much larger. It has stuck with me ever since.” 

Alan’s career started when he left school to study for his Chartered Accountant qualification. From there, he secured a role in an accountancy practice considered one of the ‘Big 8’. He developed an interest in business which lead him to management roles in large corporate firms for 15 years, leading teams to success. His biggest achievement saw him growing one corporate division to 800 employees and a turnover of £420million but, even with this success, Alan had other things on his mind. 

“I became disillusioned with the corporate world and wanted something different. My time with a business coach had an overwhelming impact on my outlook and I began thinking about where I would go next – I’d never forgotten about it and that’s when I found ActionCOACH. The concept of coaching was relatively new at the time. I wanted to know more, so I officially started my wider research.”

Alan visited a franchise show in Manchester with an open mind to discover the various opportunities on offer. There was something about ActionCOACH that kept drawing him in. 

“When I learnt more about their systems, I was very impressed. I had never seen anything like this through all my corporate life and I soon realised the value of the model. I gathered the information I needed to make a sensible decision and went away from the exhibition excited and intrigued.” 

Although Alan was almost certain he’d found his next adventure, he still conducted his own very thorough due diligence. He spoke with several ActionCOACH franchise partners to ensure it was exactly what he was looking for. In March 2004, he signed on the dotted line for his new ActionCOACH business in Kettering - he was ready for ActionCOACH University. 

 

A new start

“Back then, initial training was in Australia and I spent 10 days on the Gold Coast - it was amazing! It was by far the best training I’d ever received, giving a different perspective on the sales and marketing aspects of business and a whole lot more besides. It equipped me with all the know-how to hit the ground running when I arrived home. I was fully prepared for the hard work that would follow.

“I really went full steam ahead when I got back. I’d already got myself an office and part-time PA ready for business. I was going for world domination! The marketing training stood me in good stead for the best start possible and very quickly I attracted some attention. Things started to pick up and within five months I’d brought in a full-time telemarketer and associate to support me. By month six, I’d signed five clients.” 

The support Alan receives, along with his fellow franchise partners, ensures they are kept at the top of their game. With events such as the Business Excellence Forum and 70 days of support available, all franchise partners have the opportunity to get more out of their business and deliver more for their clients.

Alan’s road to working just a few days a week was a conscious decision he made, stripping things back to basics and choosing to be both the coach and business development manager.

 

Building a better lifestyle

“I’m now at a nice stage where I don’t need to actively market. I’ve got 12 clients at the moment, with an annual client income of £200,000, but I’ve started to become a lot more selective about who I work with. I only agree to work with clients who I feel passionate about and want to help long term. My average client stays on for 33 months, but I’ve got those who have been with me for seven, eight and 10 years.”

Not only is Alan a coach’s coach, helping to onboard any new franchise partners, he is a regular speaker at ActionCOACH’s UK conferences. He believes it is important for him to share his knowledge with the rest of the network, especially those franchise partners just starting out, and demonstrate how collaborative it is. He thinks himself as a prime example of how ActionCOACH can impact your whole life. 

“ActionCOACH has given me a great deal of flexibility, allowing me to focus on the three hobbies I love – fly-fishing, long-distance open water swimming and gun-dog training. I know I can fit things in around meetings and coaching sessions - that’s ultimately what I wanted to achieve. It also gives me the opportunity to spend precious time with my wife, Sheila, our children, and their children when we want to.”

Jenni Morgan

When the planets align

How Jenni Morgan finally found a career ticking everything on her wish list and more…

As a former fast-track graduate on the Mars trainee scheme, Jenni Morgan was introduced to coaching as a line-management style which left a lasting and positive impression on this young professional. Following 15 years, with Mars, she decided to take some time out of the corporate world.

“I strongly believe a good education can improve your chances in life. I was keen to help school kids make something of themselves by teaching them mathematics. I soon realised I wasn’t the right fit for academia and my skills were going to be better used elsewhere - but this wasn’t the first time I’d learned something valuable about myself.

“When I first went to university, I had chosen to study chemical engineering which took me to a work placement in the oil industry. I was put in front of a computer in an office on my own and felt the huge void of human interaction. It had been a nerve-wracking realisation at the time that I had chosen the wrong degree, but it gave me the opportunity to think again about my career. I decided to move into manufacturing instead.”

Jenni now had a good grasp of what she wanted out of her career going forward. She knew she was a people person with a genuine interest in business.

“My husband, Henry, and I were settled in London at the time. I was contemplating my next career move after my short spell tutoring when an old colleague from Mars. reached out to me. He’d been consulting for a company who now needed help with marketing. 

“This was the first time I had worked with smaller companies including a couple of start-ups and a charity. Work with the charity led me further into coaching, in the main to be able to save them money. Rather than work with every person in their team, I coached one of them so she could pass on the learning to the rest. I had the third major realisation of my career that coaching was my opportunity to make a difference - the impact I hadn’t been able to effect in education.”

But London life was beginning to lose its appeal for the couple. Henry and Jenni decided to move away from the city and closer to their family in Yorkshire. 

“I would have looked for a job that combined my skills with coaching when we moved to Wakefield but I didn’t have any business connections or a network of past colleagues. So, I decided to go for a job in marketing, knowing I could ace an interview. Sure enough, I landed Head of Marketing for a computer software company who specialised in educational learning needs.

“It was the first time I’d been employed in a SME. Each department of the business was in close proximity to marketing and I found myself wanting to share advice that could support the growth of the company in each of those departments. I knew I had to set myself a new challenge outside of this role and so, 18 months later, I decided to take some time off to re-group.”

In spring 2018, Jenni wrote out her wishlist for her future career. What did she enjoy, what were her skills and values? She knew success was linked to education and so working somewhere that valued ongoing professional development would be important.

“I thought I could find a job where I could help companies grow by coaching them. After extensive research, it turned out, there weren’t any jobs that did that - I would have to make my own job. 

“In the past, I’d registered with a franchise search website and had been ignoring their daily emails advertising different franchise opportunities. I’d just finished formulating my wishlist when I decided to open one of these franchise-opportunity emails - it was ActionCOACH. It seemed to answer my coaching wish but I didn’t know enough about them to match anything else on my list. I decided to research similar franchises, shortlisted one other with ActionCOACH and registered for their discovery days. 

“In June 2018, I made the trip down to Leicestershire for ActionCOACH’s discovery day. Ian Christelow, the UK Co-founder, entered the room to greet us with news hot off the press. He told us they had a new Firm Builder licence with access to exclusive territories and we would be the first new franchise partners to choose between this and the pre-existing single operator franchise. 

“I now had the option of becoming the single business growth coach I had considered as my new job prospect or invest to build a firm of business growth coaches - for me, it wasn’t a tricky decision. Why wouldn’t I choose to grow a successful business when I would be coaching my clients to do exactly that?”

Jenni talked it over with Henry and her mind was made up. She would be the first new franchise partner to sign up to the exclusive territory Firm Builder licence with ActionCOACH. They spoke to NatWest about funding the franchise but decided to use a pension-led funding opportunity instead. It was then time to head to ActionCOACH University for the initial training week.

“September 2018 was a whirlwind. I had to complete the pre-training reading before spending a week of training with some of the best at ActionCOACH. Each session was led by experts from the UK team including long-term franchise partner, Andrew Kureishy, giving real-life examples of client coaching techniques and sales guru Jon Asquith from their exclusive client generation centre.

“With all the practical nuts and bolts in place, I was ready to launch my new business into space. All the planets had aligned to bring me to this point - the start of something big. In October 2018, ActionCOACH Wakefield was going to take everything I had made of myself so far and up the game so I could be the best I could possibly be. I’d spent four weeks rounding prospects up three of ActionCOACH’s recommended lead generation strategies and I had 30 people sat in my first 6-steps seminar. My coach’s coach, James Vincent, presented part of the seminar with me. It was a great confidence boost and, at the end of the seminar, I booked 12 follow-up appointments which resulted in one group coaching client and a one-to-one coaching client. Another invested in one-to-one coaching six months later after we stayed in touch.”

Jenni decided to stretch her first 12-month goals, planning to reach £100,000 in client income through a mixture of one-to-one and group coaching clients. She found a combination of 4 lead generation strategies brought in a good level of enquiries and led to a good conversion rate into paying clients.

“I employ the equivalent of one full-time marketer I also receive qualified leads from ActionCOACH’s client generation centre. This gives me a pipeline of prospects which puts the business in a good position to finish our first year and move in to the next. I plan to re-invest my year 1 profits back into the business to begin the expansion of my firm during the first quarter of 2020. Increasing the hours of my marketing team will up our number of prospects and genrate enough clients to keep my first employee coach busy.”

Jenni and Henry moved up to Yorkshire to improve their work-life balance, spending more time with friends and family. But starting a new business, even with the help of a dedicated franchise support team, takes a lot of time initially.

“I’m the sort of person who will put in the hours to make something successful and my new business has been no exception. If you speak to a few ActionCOACH franchise partners, you’ll find they all grow their businesses at different rates due to personal goals and motivators, so you don’t have to be exactly like me. 

“I’m on a mission to get fit, clearing my diary for aqua aerobics and the gym several times a week. Henry and I got into scuba diving on holiday a few years ago, so we’ve added that to our annual vacation schedule on top of our usual ski trip. And we spend plenty of time with friends and family locally - last week we took our nephew to the local snowdome to introduce him to our love of skiing.

“What’s really important to me is that I’ve found a career which ticks everything on my wishlist and more. ActionCOACH’s 14 Points of Culture overlap with the values I wrote down back in spring 2018. They’re not just a list of phrases, you see them walking and talking every time you meet a franchise partner from any part of the world or catch up with someone from the franchise support team.

“I can go out to a networking event or speak to a prospect knowing ActionCOACH works because I have my own coach who has been instrumental in supporting the growth of my business. At my first ActionCOACH Christmas party, I explained to Ian, the man who gave me that first opportunity to build my own coaching firm, I felt like I had come home because ActionCOACH feels like a family.”

Marco Soares

Taking my success to the next level 

After nearly a decade in his ActionCOACH franchise, Marco Soares is celebrating having been named UK Coach of the Year for the second year in a row. As well as receiving the award for Coach of the Year in the South East every year since 2012, these wins have given him the chance to reflect on his 10 years in business and plan for his next phase in business and life. 

“It’s time to take things to the next level. It’s always been my dream to get myself in a position where I could acquire different businesses and it’s now beginning to take shape. I’ve come a long way in 10 years and I’m only determined to continue it even further in the future.” 

Marco came over to the UK from South Africa when he was 21 years old. After graduating from the Institute of Marketing Management, he and his friend bought flights, setting off with just a backpack and £1,000. What was initially meant to be a two-year holiday, turned into a trip where they both secured jobs and settled down. Marco got a job with the Independent newspaper where he honed his sales technique. 

During this time, he was headhunted for a role in advertising where he was in charge of the live events section for concerts and festivals. He was then promoted to responsibility for managing the sales team for advertising space in Q, Mojo and Kerrang magazines. Marco was a keen musician himself, being in a metal band, but he was disheartened to see that their music wasn’t getting any traction. 

“I said to myself, ‘I don’t think I’m happy with the path I’m on’. I’d always wanted my own business - it felt like the perfect time to go for it. I’d previously worked at Cash Converters in South Africa, so I was familiar with the concept of franchising. I knew it was the most sensible way of getting started by providing a suitable and stable foundation to make my dream a reality. I visited a franchise show to get inspiration, but I didn’t find anything that felt right.”

Not one to give up so easily, Marco consulted a franchise finder service to find the right franchise match for him and ActionCOACH was the result. In November 2009, after conducting his own due diligence, Marco signed up to launch his franchise. In March 2010, he was ready for his training at ActionCOACH University. 

A new start

“The 10 days of training were very good and comprehensive. I was provided with all of the information required to get my business off the ground, but I knew that was just the tip of the iceberg. It was all about putting it into practice when I arrived home.” 

Marco launched his ActionCOACH practise in Haywards Heath in April 2010. With his head buzzing with ideas and raring to go, Marco went full steam ahead to generate awareness for his business. 

“I employed several marketers who focused on direct mail and follow up. I’ve got to admit that it was a slow start as it took a while to understand how to build a consistent and efficient sales and marketing machine. I signed up five clients in year one but, since then, I’ve grown every single year.” 

A decade on, ActionCOACH’s UK Support Team provides three weeks of training in the UK to support your business launch - the third week being hands-on training in client acquisition at their exclusive client generation centre in Sheffield. The ongoing support Marco receives, along with his fellow franchise partners, ensures they are kept at the top of their game. With events such as the Business Excellence Forum (BizX) and 70 days of support available, all franchise partners have the opportunity to get more out of their business and deliver more for their clients. 

“There are plenty of opportunities to keep things fresh and introduce new tools to the toolkit. We’ve got workshops happening throughout the year, an internal development programme for me as a coach and constant assistance from the UK support team. I especially love BizX and the UK conference as we are all together to learn from world-class  industry leaders in the right environment – we’re all hungry for advice and soak it up like sponges.” 

As Marco got into his stride, he began to think about ways in which he could develop his business. In his second year, he introduced workshops to his coaching repertoire where he delivers practical advice for clients to implement into their own businesses. It was in the years that followed where he began to achieve a great level of success.  

“I currently have 30 one-to-one clients in a range of sectors. What’s great is I don’t have to target any specific business to become a client – the tools and processes can be implemented in any company, no matter how big or small. I’m now earning way more than I would have in my former corporate career and have achieved a better work-life balance.”

Taking things to the next level 

After seeing a 20 per cent growth in his income from 2018, Marco committed to speaking at ActionCOACH conferences to share best practice and highlight the accountabilities of being a coach. Using his success as a catalyst, he is determined to push even further than ever before. 

“I’ve worked with 110+ businesses in the last decade and my next goal is to create 50 new jobs in the area every single year. It gives me great satisfaction not to just help the business owners, but to support employees and families too. I want ActionCOACH to bring to them exactly what it’s brought to me - a rewarding career and great lifestyle.” 

When he’s not coaching, Marco is a fan of obstacle course racing. But the real impact is on the time that he’s now got to spend with his loved ones. 

“I have the freedom to have the lifestyle that I want – going on nice holidays, spending quality time with my wife, Jane, and my two young children. It’s also important for me to be able to go back to South Africa to visit the rest of my family. Without the flexibility to create my own work schedule, that wouldn’t be possible.”

For most people, after a decade of running their own business, they might start to get complacent. But not Marco. As he approaches the tenth birthday of his ActionCOACH business, and with an awards cabinet that is bursting at the seams, he shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Mitali Chopra

I built the dream business with a significant impact

Mitali Chopra had 17 years of a successful corporate career in India and the UK before finally plucking up the courage to start her own business. After meeting with an Action Coach and realising the potential positive social impact she could have, today she celebrates her successes and reflects on all she has achieved in just over three years. 

“I was always determined to create a business that would have an overwhelming impact on my clients and their lives. It was extremely important for me to find something that would allow me to do that, whilst also creating a difference to my own life. With my most recent success of one of my clients being named UK Entrepreneur of the Year, this is just the beginning for my ActionCOACH franchise.”

Her husband, Chetan, worked for HSBC and, in early 2015, the family moved to London. 

“The move to London gave me the chance to follow a dream of mine with three specific wishes. Firstly, I met an executive coach many years ago who really made an impression and it was always in the back of my mind that business coaching could be a great profession. I had worked with the SME sector for a long time and, more often than not, the basics of business were missing and I knew I could help them grow and flourish. 

“Secondly, I’d wanted my own business for a very long time and it was an ideal time to pursue that. Thirdly, I was determined, whatever I did, it needed to make a significant impact.” 

In November 2015, Mitali went to The Business Start-up Show at ExCeL London to understand the SME landscape. Although she wasn’t looking for a franchise, she attended Shweta Jhajharia’s seminar on how to build a sales and marketing machine where she spoke about her journey with ActionCOACH. Mitali instantly connected with her story and started researching further into the franchise. 

“I’d never considered a franchise over starting my own business from scratch, but I soon began to realise it gives you so much support and a springboard to success. I continued my research into ActionCOACH and reached out to several franchise partners – I wanted to make an informed decision before I took the next step. When I met the ActionCOACH UK Support Team at a discovery day. I was already convinced that joining ActionCOACH was going to tick all the boxes for me.”

A new start

“I’d been told by every franchise partner I spoke with that the ActionCOACH community was very inclusive and supportive, but I didn’t completely believe them until I experienced it for myself. During my initial franchise training, I was amazed by the team environment and I’m still amazed today by their collaborative nature.

“I launched my ActionCOACH business on 1st August 2016 and, within eight weeks, had signed up five one-to-one coaching clients. I followed the marketing advice in my training and my first client came from ActionCOACH’s exclusive client generation centre. My clients come from a range of sectors and they’re all at different stages of the business lifecycle. The work I do is life-changing for my business owner clients. They understand their business better, improve profitability, enjoy work more and can see the possibility of more growth and financial freedom in the future. I now work with 22 clients.” 

Taking things to the next level 

Mitali’s success has stemmed from her sheer motivation. After moving to an office space in Greenwich and growing her team to include a Business Development Manager, admin and marketing support roles, there’s no stopping her. In 2019, the results from her coaching created 56 additional jobs in the local community. 

“I have reached a level of income that is triple what I earned in my corporate career. Like any other business, of course, there’s peaks and troughs but I’ve had consistent growth since I launched. 

“However, I don’t consider my success as a result of what I’ve achieved – it’s about the results my clients have experienced. My ‘champions’, as I fondly call them, are achieving growth and improved profitability while getting more personal time out. A creative agency improved their profits 300% and got successfully acquired by a publicly listed company. I coach Luke Murfitt in his cleaning business and he’s just been named UK Entrepreneur of the Year. He’s gone from the job centre to winning this award in 22 months, seeing a growth of 650% and bringing 39 mothers back to work – all whilst going through a personal battle with Parkinson’s. It’s no wonder he won and it was incredible to be part of his journey.” 

Mitali’s work clearly has the impact she so desperately craved. In three and a half years, she has worked with hundreds of businesspeople in her local area and, for every client she signs, she sponsors a child’s education in India - 66 children have received scholarships so far thanks to the growth of her business. Perhaps the biggest impact is the one it’s had on her personal life. 

“ActionCOACH gives me a great work-life balance. I stick to typical office hours in the week which gives me the chance to spend quality time with my family. Our goal is to travel to 100 cities across the world, exploring local culture and cuisine. We have been to 63, so we’re edging ever closer to our target but still have a way to go.

“My son is a professional squash player and it’s great to have the flexibility to travel for his tournaments. It’s important for us, as a family, to appreciate the time we get to spend together. How I turned business failure into a success  

Rod Fuller experienced first-hand how a lack of key skills can cause a business to collapse. After he was left without a job when his employer’s business failed, he decided to put his energy into helping other business owners avoid the same fate. Just one year on, his ActionCOACH franchise is creating business growth in his community as well as an excellent income for his family. 

Rod has worked with businesses at both ends of the spectrum. In 2010, he proved instrumental supporting an engineering company, taking them from the fear of running out of cash in 13 weeks, to a success. Whilst in August 2017, Rod witnessed the opposite end. He helped two people launch their business in the housing industry. Although it helped him to hone his skills, Rod was left in a sticky situation when the company went into liquidation. Due to the directors not maintaining a level of communication and clarity, the business started to break down. It was a learning curve for Rod, but it didn’t discourage him from moving onto the next challenge. 

“My brother-in-law, Jeff Gosling, is an Action Coach, and we’d had many conversations about the impact ActionCOACH has had on his life. I liked the proven model that would allow me to implement significant change for the good in my local community.” 

Rod and his wife, Gail, attended a discovery day to ensure ActionCOACH ticked all the boxes before he started conducting his due diligence. The pair took a break to New Zealand in November to mull things over. Rod turned to Gail, whilst on a beach, and said: “We’re going to do this!” 

A new start

Arriving home, Rod was awarded his franchise just before Christmas of 2018. With the well-earned break complete, Rod went to ActionCOACH University at the end of January.  

“I loved the training. It was intense and they take me out of my comfort zone during a great learning experience. I built a strong comradery with other franchise partners who I’m still in contact with today. What’s invaluable is that it’s not just about how to coach, it makes you think about your role and what you’re going to be doing day-to-day. It was just as powerful from a personal development point of view, as it was for the coaching aspect.”

Raring to go, Rod officially launched ActionCOACH Mansfield in March 2019. Although the training provided a thorough scope of the business, he knew he still had a lot of work to do to get the business off the ground. 

“I invested in a territory that was an entirely new area of the country to me. I knew that I would have to spend a fair amount of time establishing a base and getting to know the people around me. I didn’t have a circle of influence that I could call upon for easy enquiries, I had to go out and make connections with local businesses – discovering the major players and what makes them tick. 

“I also thought about the months that would follow, including where the best place would be to hold a seminar. I had to consider all aspects to make sure I was making the best choices to begin with. That planning paid off as I signed my first client quite quickly. And then I was eager to help more clients.” 

From the moment he signed his first client, he was focused on creating meaningful contacts and getting to the heart of the local business community. In June, he signed four clients which signified a turning point in his business.

Taking things to the next level 

“In August, I brought in two Business Development Managers to work alongside me and Gail. They have become a crucial part of the team, helping to maintain client relationships and deal with enquiries whilst I focus on the coaching. I’m already achieving around £10,000 of client income a month and my record month so far has been £13,000.” 

Rod currently works with 13 clients – ranging from SMEs to multi-million-pound businesses. He has recently branched out to include various coaching options for his clients and puts his success down to being able to offer something to everyone. 

“It doesn’t matter who I talk with, there is something I can offer. No matter what stage they’re at on their business journey, or whether the owners are ready to commit, there is a range of programmes I can provide to help. I have a dedicated session to discuss business plans, a monthly book club, mentor programmes and much more. I even bundle options together to provide clients with a personalised service that works just for them.” 

A year after he launched, Rod has established the foundations that will support him for future growth. Investing in a Senior Partner licence gives Rod exclusive access to work with 10,000 businesses in his territory but, to provide that much support, he now needs to grow his team. 

“In the next nine months, I want to have an employee coach. Now I’ve got to grips with my business and created in-roads with the business community, it’s important I’m expanding our services and showing we can be there for every business owner in Mansfield who wants our help. We’ve just completed an office move, which will help us to prepare for a larger team and client base.” 

Becoming an Action Coach hasn’t just improved Rod’s professional life, it has worked wonders for his personal life too. When he and his wife aren’t in the office, they enjoy their favourite pastimes. 

“Gail has a horse and, because she loves that so much, I’m currently learning to horse ride. It’s one of my personal goals to get to a point where we can both go riding out together. I’m also a season ticket holder for Leicester Tigers’ rugby club which takes up a fair amount of my time. ActionCOACH has given me the freedom and flexibility to do the things I love the most – something which was certainly missing in my old corporate life.”

Creating a more fulfilling business

Tom Hosking had worked in the advertising, media and digital space for over two decades, but he decided he wanted more fulfilment from his career and the three-hour round trip every day just wasn’t worth it anymore. With a significant interest in coaching, he discovered ActionCOACH and, one year on, he can’t believe the impact choosing this franchise has had on his life. 

“It’s certainly helped with my work-life balance. Now I’ve got my evenings back, I can spend more time with my family. I’m enjoying my weekends more too, making sure I factor in time with my wife, Jacqui, and two young children. A new challenge

The following month, Tom attended ActionCOACH University. The fortnight of training equips new franchise partners with the know-how to hit the ground running when they arrive back home – Tom was fully prepared to absorb it all. 

“The training was split into two separate weeks, the first focusing on learning the system and the second with the client acquisition process. It was clear the ActionCOACH UK support team place so much emphasis on the importance of continual learning, readying us for the future. A great example of what’s available to create the best chance of success is the Business Excellence Forum - a two-day conference for franchise partners and their clients hosting world-class thought leaders - which fell in the middle of my two weeks of training. It was the perfect opportunity to see the size of the network and get an idea of the success my business could achieve. 

“I arrived home buzzing with information from the whole experience. I already had an office set up in Hove and was focused on raising awareness for my new business. I hosted my 1st seminar with hands-on help and guidance from the UK support team, inviting business owners to take away free business advice to easily implement. This was great as an initial introduction, but I knew there was still a long way to go.” 

Tom became a regular member of many several business networking events after learning which were the best to attend. He quickly gained momentum, grasping the operations of his business and how best to develop it for the future. He made an initial plan to collaborate with other coaches in the network which has recently come into fruition. 

“I’m partnering with two nearby coaches to deliver group coaching events to clients. ActionCOACH has a culture of teamwork where franchise partners can work in partnership to support one another and create an environment to achieve the best results.”

Stepping it up

“I’ve got six clients signed up on various business coaching products including one-to-one, group coaching and strategy events. My monthly client income is sitting comfortably above £10,000 and growing quite considerably now I’ve established myself and my business in the community.” 

Helping his clients achieve success is something very close to Tom’s heart. This year, one of them is shortlisted for a Best Retailer award and the well-deserved recognition is a great achievement for them both. Whilst his business is still considered to be in its infancy at just one year old, Tom is expecting to multiply his impact. 

 

“I now plan to build a substantial coaching firm, recruiting an employee coach in the first instance. They will help support with day-to-day coaching, so I can shift some focus onto business development. I’ve forecast to achieve a six-figure profit by the end of 2020 and introducing new coaches to the team will certainly help reach my goal. 

“By far the best impact ActionCOACH has had on my life is how much time I get to spend with my family. It’s certainly brought us all closer as we can now make time to take holidays, go on trips at the weekends and enjoy our hobbies of cycling and learning to swim in open water – a triathlon is on the cards. It’s especially crucial with my children as I want to be around for the most important part of their childhood.”
