The company was launched with 3 weekly classes at a local rugby club in Leicestershire in September 2017 and quickly grew to be delivering 12 weekly classes at 5 venues in the same small area. The first franchise was launched in December 2017 and the original area has continued to grow rapidly also delivering school holiday camps; after school and nursery sessions and parties using our didi sports brand to incorporate other sports such as basketball; dodgeball and cricket. We encourage franchisees to work with their local grass roots sports clubs and to celebrate when didi stars ‘graduate’ into the family of local sports clubs. There are now 22 franchisees around the UK giving children the opportunity to enjoy being active and to help develop their physical and social skills in sessions that include the requirements of the ELYS.
Franchises vary in size and ambition from main income stream family businesses with up to 10 postcodes to those with one or two postcodes run as a part time business alongside other interests or looking after a family. All belong to the same team dedicated to getting young children to enjoy physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle and to progress into the grass roots sports supportive family network. We have plans to expand further across the UK at a pace that will allow our small HQ Team to attract; onboard and support like minded people to achieve their business plan objectives and generate profits in line with their target outcomes.
Franchisees are supported through their buy in decision making; their induction to the business; onboarding and set up; and regularly through our Review and Support processes throughout their time with didi rugby. The potential of the proposed area is assessed through our data driven analysis to ensure buy in decisions are well founded.
