Company Overview

At EweMove, we’re in the business of helping people locally find and move into their perfect home.

Today’s house seller or landlord is acutely aware they need a property partner who works with them. Someone who gets a fast and plentiful supply of viewers and who is there to help.

Lots of Estate Agents fail to grasp that at its core estate agency is not about the properties – it’s about the people.

Customers have rated EweMove as the Most Trusted Estate Agent in the UK based on hundreds of independent customer reviews on www.Trustpilot.com.

Franchise Overview

After years of experience in the property and franchising industry, we’ve learnt a lot about what works. We help over 95 franchisees all over the UK build their own successful businesses, break free from the 9-5 and live the lives they want to live.

We’ve pooled everything we know about building and running a successful, profitable estate agent – into easy-to-implement resources for our franchisees.

Whilst we have grown rapidly since launching EweMove in 2013, there are franchise territories available throughout the UK.

On the back of growing from zero to over 95 franchised branches in two years, we have won many industry and business awards.

Training

Our training is vast and it’s all free. This encourages franchisees to attend as much training as possible. Here’s a quick summary:

• 1 week’s induction training at HQ followed by 10 1-day ‘Success Summits’. Success Summits are run by the EweMove leadership team, as well as special guests and franchisee superstars who share best practice and encourage role model behavior
• Bi-weekly live video webinars
• Dedicated private discussion forum with a 9-5 franchise telephone support team
• Growing Ewe-Tube library of ‘How to Videos’
• Over 40 specialist 1-day business training courses at the ‘Ewe-Niversity’- a national training academy based in the Midlands
• Regional 1:1 Business Boost sessions with a dedicated Business Development Manager
• Financial Business Maximiser Reviews with the FD
Training is delivered in a variety of styles from traditional classroom and role-play to more practical tutoring and in the field training. There is also a wealth of material available online and via videos

Daily Life of a franchisee

As a Branch Director, you’re free from the day to day drudgery of the office and can focus on providing a fully dedicated VIP service to your landlords, vendors and buyers.

You’ll meet vendors and landlords carry out a valuation, prepare property marketing and do the photos.  You’ll personally carry out the viewings armed with your in depth knowledge of the house, you’re in a far better position to sell or let it in no time at all!

Sophie Harker, EweMove Stamford & Spalding

Sophie has run her franchise since 2013 and has grown her business, secured good market and is building a great team.

She said: "I've worked hard to raise awareness of what we do over the years and its now really paying off. Seventy-four per cent of our business comes from referrals or recommendations and that tells you a lot about our standards of service."

"My top tip would be to think positively and just follow the marketing plan and system that head office provides"

Andy Slack, EweMove Mansfield

Andy was one of our first franchisees back in 2014. He's recently renewed his franchise with EweMove.

He said; " Business has been good, and I've recently taken on an associate to maximise the oppertunities we now have as a reputable and popular brand."

"Becoming a EweMover is easier now than it was when I was starting out as people are far more aware of the brand and what it stands for."

My top tip to franchisees is to outsource wherever possible. I use companies for slaes progression and social media marketing, and it just helps me to have more time to focus on winning new businesses and looking after clients"

Adie McCarthy

Why I chose EweMove

Adie started his franchise business just two months before the first lockdown in March 2020.

And despite initial concerns, he’s enjoyed phenomenal success since then.

Here’s his story.

What’s your background Adie?

“I started my career in estate agency in 2006. During that time, I’ve worked for independent agencies and have experience successfully starting the sales arm of a letting’s agency from scratch. I’ve experienced every type of property market during that time.

Why did you choose EweMove?

“I got to a point in my career when I thought, why should I be running a business for someone else. This led me to research the franchise market closely, and EweMove caught my eye as several local franchisees operate near where I worked and live.

When did you open for business?

“I opened in January 2020 and was close to putting it on hold when lockdown happened in March.

It was such an uncertain time, and no one knew what was around the corner. However, I took on board some great advice and did a lot of work on social media during the first six weeks when many Hist Street agents were shut for business. This helped raise my profile and led to us winning a lot of instructions when things reopened properly.

“During that time, we held regular Facebook Live property clinics which answered the questions people had about the local housing market. This was great for our profile and getting our name out there.

“We’ve since gone from strength to strength.”

What’s next for you?

“We’re looking to expand by adding two neighbouring territories and employing two self-employed (or was it associate agents?) agents to join our team. We’re optimistic about the future and keen to build on our initial successes.

What would you say to an experienced agent considering a EweMove franchise?

“Don’t hesitate. When you join EweMove, you’re not just getting the support from the head office, but you’ll benefit from the support network that other, more experienced franchisees provide.

If you’re thinking of joining us, you certainly won’t be going it alone in a literal sense as there’s a real sense of camaraderie and togetherness that will help you and your business ambitions.

Being part of a network and sharing my knowledge with others is something I really enjoy.”

Chris Wells, Welwyn Garden City, Milton Keynes & Bletchley

Why I chose EweMove

We love sharing our success stories with you.

And nothing gives us a bigger buzz than seeing our franchisees doing well.

In Chris Wells’ case, he’s done INCREDIBLY well since launching his EweMove business.

Chris has worked in estate agency since he was 17 years-old and has experience selling homes in Europe and England.

We caught up with Chris recently, and he spoke openly about his EweMove experiences.

What’s your background Chris?

“I started in agency selling properties in Malta. I did that for two years and then worked at various corporate agencies learning the ins and outs of the industry.”

What made you consider running your own business?

“I was working all the hours that god sends and not getting well paid for it. I’ve always wanted to be my own boss, so I began researching my options.”

Why did you choose EweMove?

“I looked at many ways of setting up my own agency. However, the start-up costs if I was going alone and setting up from scratch are very high. So, I investigated franchising options, and EweMove stood out head and shoulders as the right opportunity for me. I believe that the future of estate agency will see hybrid brands and agencies flourish.

“I crunched the numbers and saw EweMove gave me a great chance to earn the kind of money I wanted and deserved. I also loved how welcoming everyone at head office is and that I could speak with Nick Neill and discuss how he made a success of his franchise before becoming our Managing Director.”

When did you open for business?

“I launched in September 2020 and thanks to the support and guidance I recieved I hit the ground running.”

You’re relatively new to EweMove – how have you found it?

“Fantastic. I’ve sold multi-millions pounds worth of homes up to £1.75m and banked great commissions which reflect the level of personal service and care EweMove allows me to provide my clients. Knowing that all the back end and organisational stuff is sorted means I can focus on winning new business and delivering outstanding results for clients.

“I worked out that for me to earn the sort of money I made selling two homes a month with EweMove, I’d need to sell 10-12 homes if I were employed by an agency. I sell a lot more than two homes a month now, so I am very optimistic about the future.

What’s next for you?

“I’ve recently taken on the Milton Keynes, and Bletchley exclusive territory and am excited about what can be achieved there using EweMove’s systems, techniques and my enthusiasm and knowledge.”

What would you say to anyone considering a EweMove franchise?

“If you are prepared to work hard, learn, and take a qualified risk, I can’t see any downside to joining EweMove. The brand goes down well with clients, the support you get is exceptional, and everything is in place for you to succeed IF you’re willing to put the initial hours and effort in.

James Hillier, Bexleyheath, Sidcup, Abbeywood, New Eltham, Welling, Belvedere

Why I chose EweMove

We caught up with one of our most successful franchisees James Hillier recently

James has an interesting story of how and why he came around to the idea of rebranding his existing agency under the EweMove banner and is VERY glad he did.

What’s your background James?

I’ve been in estate agency since 2004 and have worked in corporates and independents over the years.

Along with my business partner, Robert Bearsby, we set up a successful agency that did well for around ten years, winning awards and performing strongly.

Why did you choose EweMove?

“As an independent agency, we always felt a little bit behind the curve in terms of marketing trends. So, we started looking at lots of different options and franchise opportunities. I was dismissive of EweMove at first because I thought people didn’t want an agency with a sheep at the centre of its marketing.

“But when my Robert and I delved into we soon realised that no one was coming close to what EweMove were offering.

“We saved thousands on just our property portal costs and even more when you factor in all the other things, we were paying for that being a franchisee of EweMove gets you a discount on.

When did you open for business under the new brand?

“We opened following a major rebranding over to EweMove in November 2017, and we haven’t looked back.

“Immediately following our office’s refurbishment, we noticed we were getting noticed a lot more because we were standing out from other agencies who had safe/boring approaches to their brand and property marketing.”

What’s next for you?

“We have expanded our territories regularly, and we’re aiming for 10 in total. We also are looking at having more associates come and work with us. So, we’re positive and confident about the future.”

What would you say to an experienced agent considering a EweMove franchise?

“Park your ego. By that, I mean don’t be dismissive because you think a sheep logo won’t work – it does, and EweMove is about a whole lot more than eye-catching branding. Instead, look at the opportunity for what it is – a chance to earn good money, build a saleable business and have access to a team of experts who allow you to go out there and concentrate on winning new business and helping more people.”

Martin Mellor

Why I Chose EweMove

We caught up with serial entrepreneur Martin Mellor recently to discuss his EweMove experience and successful business background.

Martin has a well thought out approach to running his franchise territories along with his business partner Rob Hammond and their wives. Their strategic and long-term thinking is already starting to pay off.

What’s your background Martin?

I was one of the UK’s first Vodafone franchisees and now own three stores. That’s how I met Rob, who was working with me at one of them. Rob had worked with me prior to Vodafone and we make a great partnership. We have a great team running the stores, which meant I had the time to look at other business options.

Why did you choose EweMove?

I wanted to ensure I had multiple revenue streams to accompany our other business interests. Rob and I did a lot of research into franchises, and to be honest, at first, I wasn’t particularly taken with EweMove. That all changed when we spoke with Jonathon Dawson, who runs the York franchise. Hearing about it from someone who was doing it and doing well was very reassuring. We then went to Bradford Cleckheaton to speak with Nick Neill and the head office team, we felt they were people we could do business with.

Also, I believe that property is a business where there is a consistent demand. Therefore, people will always need to move for whatever reason, which creates an opportunity for good estate agents.

That’s one of the main reasons we bought two territories initially and then quickly added two more because we’re confident this will be a success.

What’s next for you?

“We’re looking to establish ourselves as leading agents in the areas we serve. We will be getting more involved within the community and perhaps add a couple of local offices to give us more visibility.

“We will also be considering introducing associate agents to work with us. We’re looking forward to building our business in the future.”

What would you say to anyone considering a EweMove franchise?

Do your due diligence and research to see if EweMove is the right fit for you. It is hard work, and you need to get over the initial cash flow challenges. But there is a proven plan to follow, and the people at EweMove are genuine, know their stuff and are very supportive.

Wendy Knight – Hebden Bridge & Sowerbridge

Why I Chose EweMove

We’ve had many success stories throughout EweMove where people have joined us with little or no estate agency experience.

Wendy is one of these stars who swapped a career in the probation service to helping people sell their homes.

What’s your background, Wendy?

I’ve had a varied career with roles in the fire and probation services and managing hostels.

I didn’t like the direction the probation service was moving and began to look for other career paths.

I first became aware of EweMove through a pop-up advert and thought this looked interesting but put it to the back of my mind.

Why did you choose EweMove?

We put our house up for sale, and Mike Palmer from EweMove came to value it. We got on well, and he sold the home for us. I asked about EweMove, and he spoke very highly of it.

This made me look further into it, and I liked what I saw.

I believe life’s too short not to try new things, so I went for it and secured a franchise.

When did you open for business, and what were your initial experiences?

In October 2018, we opened, and I enjoyed being in control of my own time and being in a position where it was down to me to do an excellent job for my clients. In other roles, I felt too dependent on others to do their side of the service offering, but with EweMove, you have much more personal control, and this helps deliver the results people want from you using you as an agent.

What’s next for you?

I’ve recently employed two associates and am looking forward to them helping me grow the business to have even more flexibility in my working day.

What would you say to someone with no estate agency experience but interested in a EweMove franchise?

Be prepared to work hard and make sacrifices initially. You must approach this by being fully committed and be clear about how many homes you’ll need to sell each month. You’ll get plenty of support from your colleagues and head office, but the rest is up to you.

Sarah Chilvers and Sophie Harker, Stamford and Spalding

Why we Chose EweMove

Schoolfriends Sarah and Sophie run a successful EweMove franchise which has gone from strength to strength.

In this two-minute read, they share what makes their business thrive and their approach to looking after colleagues and growing it.

What’re your backgrounds?

Sophie – I’ve been in estate agency since leaving school. I started as a Saturday girl and went from there. I love property, and that’s why I’ve stayed in the industry.

Sarah – I’m a qualified financial adviser and have known Sophie since we were 11 years old.

Why did you choose EweMove?

Sophie: I worked for the founders Glenn and David in their property business before they set up EweMove. I was offered a pilot franchise, and because I had faith in David and Glenn and could see EweMove’s potential, I decided to give it a go. This was back in 2013.

Sarah: In 2016, Sophie asked if I wanted to join her at EweMove. I knew it would be a good partnership as we’re very good friends and have shared values, but also very different personalities and skills sets to offer. I knew Sophie was making a real success of it, and I wanted to join and help grow the business.

You have four children under the ages of four between you - How do you balance family and work life?

The EweMove model is very flexible, and we’re a great example of that. We have the structures in place like call answering with Moneypenny, webchat through Yomdel and the head office support.

We have a great team of people who work with us, and that allows us the flexibility to balance two growing families and one growing business.

What are your plans for the future?

We’ve acquired a lettings portfolio and are keen to continue that growth.

We’re constantly on the lookout for new opportunities and ensure that our team is well looked after, feels valued, and suitably rewarded for all their hard work.

What would you say to anyone considering a EweMove franchise?

If you can bring the right mindset and a strong work ethic, anything is possible. You have the systems and support teamed with a large pool of other franchisees you can call on for advice and ideas.

Our main advice would be to just run with the plan you are given, and you will succeed.
