As a GoCruise & Travel franchisee you will start off by building a customer database to sell holidays by means of networking within your territory. By networking we mean getting infront of as many people as possible, collecting customer details and sharing your expert knowledge with them – giving them the confidence to book their holiday with you. It’s all about sales and giving your customers a personal, localised service.
Martin Spence loved travelling, so after 20 years as an engineer with British Airways he bought a GoCruise franchise; that was over six years ago and has never looked back…
The GoCruise franchise means Martin can combine his enthusiasm for travel with his own business, working from home in Farnborough. Having travelled all over the world, Martin has now experienced many different cruises and on his latest adventure he joined a working postal cruise in Norway where the ship delivered the post to local towns on a daily basis.
Martin has the opportunity to sell all types of cruising to all types of people for a whole host of destinations worldwide. From tall ships to river cruising, from family cruises to luxury cruises, from singles to groups, Martin has the facility to book most of the world’s cruise lines and river cruises.
Martin is a cruise expert and offers a very personal service to his customers. They come back to him time and time again because of his service, his advice, his recommendations and his in-depth knowledge of the cruise industry. He will match customers to cruises and will very often offer bespoke packages to ensure the customer gets exactly what they want from their holiday.
Working in a fun industry, Martin has been lucky to have been on familiarisation trips two or three times a year as the cruise lines are firm believers that it’s easier to sell a product that you have sampled first-hand yourself. With the GoCruise software Martin can run his business from anywhere using his laptop, always marketing his business in his local territory and networking at every opportunity.
Martin would be the first to tell you the first year is a challenge, building up your customer database; but with determination, commitment and enthusiasm for hard work he would also tell you that that first year is definitely worth the rewards later on!
