Company Overview

Heritage Healthcare Franchising Limited is based in Darlington. Both the company-owned and franchise offices provide expert care at home to individuals who have been assessed as needing support to enable them to continue living independently, within their own home and community.

Heritage Healthcare is a family business with a family culture and has over 85 years’ experience within the care sector. We are committed to providing, and continuously developing, the highest standard of service for all clients.

Franchise Overview

Heritage Healthcare has had a growing franchise division since 2013 and continues to look for committed, ambitious and motivated individuals who have the desire to own, operate and develop their own home care business. Territories within the UK are bespoke and carefully researched to offer a significant opportunity for success.

The robust franchise model has been proven as a success and has lead Heritage Healthcare to launch into the international market.

Training

New franchisees will attend our head office in Darlington for an intensive 10-day classroom-based induction programme including care service delivery, regulations, marketing and all aspects of business development.

Following this, they will receive regular support and advice throughout the pre-start-up stage which will enable them to develop and grow their business within their territory. Our training package will develop individuals into competent and capable franchisees.

Daily Life of a franchisee

Heritage Healthcare franchisees are responsible for managing their business and business development. For those that lack care experience, a Care Manager is put in place and, together, they work closely to build the Care Team, deliver care and develop the business locally.

Heritage Healthcare work tirelessly with franchisees to create local brand awareness and help them to establish relationships with their key referral sources through networking with community groups and charities.

Marie Binks, Heritage Healthcare Wakefield and Kirklees

Marie Binks is the Managing Director of Heritage Healthcare Wakefield and Kirklees, a home care business, delivering services to communities across Wakefield, Pontefract, Huddersfield and Kirklees, enabling individuals to remain living independently within the safety, comfort and familiarity of their own homes.

Before becoming a franchise owner, Marie Binks – who qualified in Law – enjoyed a successful career within the business banking sector. A regular volunteer for both her local hospice and youth football team, Marie had built lasting connections within her local community. This love for working with people, as well as Marie’s ambition and drive to make a real and tangible difference to the lives of others led to the launch of Heritage Healthcare Wakefield and Kirklees.

Originally launching in Wakefield, the success and fantastic reputation Marie has built within the first three years of business led her to purchase a second territory and expand the service into Kirklees in 2020.

Marie says: “I want to be able to look after people just as I’d want my own family to be treated and provide a service which is reliable and trusted”

Marie and her Registered Care Manager now lead a strong team of Care Assistants and together they have quickly established a reputation within the community for providing outstanding levels of care. Heritage Healthcare Wakefield and Kirklees regularly has a waiting list of clients requesting their services and are recognised as a chosen care provider by their local councils and clinical commissioning groups.

Jameela Kotawala, Heritage Healthcare Cardiff and Swansea

Heritage Healthcare first met Cardiff-based Jameela Kotawala at the National Franchise Exhibition in Birmingham in October 2013. Jameela became the first franchisee to open a Heritage Healthcare franchise in November 2014.

Since the launch of her business, Jameela has completed the Level 5 diploma in leadership for health and social, hugely improving her knowledge of the care sector.

Jameela says: “The ongoing support I have received from Heritage has simply been first class from all aspects of the business, including: operations, marketing, finance, IT and training. I currently employ 13 staff and have had to move into larger offices to aid and assist with the future growth of the business.”
