The PGH Beegone franchise is made up of two well-established brands: PGH Pest Prevention and Beegone Live Bee Removal. The multi-award winning companies were formed 14 years ago by Peter Higgs, with support from the Prince’s Trust. Experts in their field, PGH Beegone specialise in over 30 different pest species and offer over 80 different services, aiming to reduce the use of pesticides wherever possible. In particular, Beegone live bee removal are pioneers in live honeybee, comb and honeybee swarm removal from chimneys, walls, roofs and trees without the use of chemicals, extracting bees alive and relocating them – we actually save bees!
The pest control industry, which is currently growing at a rate of 12.1% annually and generating revenues of £572m, has shown itself to be both recession and Covid-proof.
Launched in December 2020, PGH Beegone has available franchise opportunities across the UK. Our first franchise branch, in Bury St Edmunds, began operations in May 2021. We aim to build the network slowly so our initial franchisees get the support and attention to allow them to thrive but plan to have 50 franchise locations by the end of 2025.

There are two PGH Beegone franchise business options: Owner Operator or Management Owner. If you are an Owner Operator you will work alone, managing your business and serving your customers. If you are a Management Owner you will run your business and have staff working for you carrying out the jobs. Either franchise offers a fantastic return on your investment and the turnkey format means we’ve got everything included for you in the franchise package.
The initial training comprises of either twelve or thirteen full days (depending on whether you are an Owner Operator or a Management Owner) of classroom training covering business coaching and planning, administration, sales & marketing, operations, HR and accounting. This will be delivered by a range of presenters, both in-house and external subject experts. You will also undertake practical on-the-job shadowing of some of our Support Centre technicians and you yourself will be shadowed and provided with feedback.
In addition, there are certain external courses to be undertaken during your first six months – some which you will do prior to your initial training to lay a foundation of knowledge, others which you will undertake alongside running your franchise business. Most of these courses will be taken online.
As part of your franchise fees you will receive access to an interactive online training portal which will be consistently updated with fresh content.
You will undertake one-off job or contract works for both commercial and residential customers, dealing with a wide range of pests from rodents, to insects, to birds and onto larger animal management. You will also undertake surveys, liaise with customers, suppliers and sub-contractors, generate new business in your area and manage the day-to-day aspects of your business.
