Pop Up Play Village is a mobile role play village that pops up for classes and events for children aged 0-8 years old. We run regular play sessions, birthday parties, entertainment for christenings and weddings, we pop up for festivals and fayres, we work in schools and early years settings and we team up with other local businesses. Pop Up Play Village was created by Becky Hoare in January 2017 and franchised in February 2018.
Pop Up Play Village launched initially in the Berkshire area. Once the franchising journey began, Pop Up Play Village became a south east of England brand with franchises popping up around the Berkshire area. Pop Up Play Village is now a UK based brand with franchises spread throughout the UK.
Training is tailor made to each franchisee to provide the support that is needed for each individual. Initially, there is an online training programme which can be completed in a franchisee’s own time. This training can then be followed up with further support on particular aspects of the business where more support may be needed. As well as the in house online training programme, there is also external training too which includes social media training with a specialist, GDPR training, Safeguarding training, food and hygiene level 2 training, first aid training and infection control training. There is also specialist training provided by members of the Pop Up Play Village team which is focused on finance and marketing training.
Owning a Pop Up Play Village franchise gives you lots of flexibility and choice over how you want to run your business. You choose the hours and types of services that you want to run. We run play sessions, birthday parties, wedding entertainment, pop up for festivals and fayres and we work in schools and early years settings so there is plenty of choice. You can focus on specific services or run a variety of all of them.
My name is Sam and I am the new franchise owner of Maidenhead and Windsor Pop Up Play Village Franchise.
I first heard of Pop Up Play Village last May when a friend of mine bought the Maidenhead and Windsor franchise, and when she told me I felt a little pang of jealousy. I have worked with children for the past 15 years and ran my own successful childminding business. However, there was something about Pop Up Play and the opportunities it gave to Little People that made me think that it could potentially be a fantastic business opportunity for me and my daughters to run and we could make it a fantastic family business.
Early this year Cath sadly had to think about selling the franchise to make way for her other business to expand, and as she had a young son, she just couldn’t run both. So, I put my interest to her and here we are!! On June 1st 2019 Pop Up Play Village Maidenhead and Windsor became my new baby.
The first month proved very successful I ran 2 successful sessions, a taster session in the local shopping centre, ran a session at my sons school Summer Fair and got 4 party bookings and in July I secured a pre school booking and piloted a new fortnightly session which is proving very popular.
My advice to anyone considering buying a franchise, is to just go for it. All the staff at Pop Up Play village are very helpful and welcoming and I hope to be here for many years to come.
I joined the Pop Up Play Village team in July 2020. I was fed up with my day job, itching for something new and exciting to do and to use my experience in children’s entertainment. When I saw the advert for a franchise opportunity, I jumped at the chance – and honestly, I haven’t looked back. Starting a new business is a daunting task but with the support of Becky and the team, I have overcome challenges I know I couldn’t have overcome on my own. Despite opening during a pandemic, it’s been amazing! Buying into this franchise gives me the best of both worlds, I am my own boss and can make decisions that suit me and my family but I also have the knowledge and expertise of the rest of the Pop Up Play Village team, helping me to navigate the confusing guidelines and restrictions that businesses face. 100% the best decision I have ever made and I am so happy that I took this leap into my new future!
