Our franchisees tend to spend their mornings following up on emails and enquiries that may have come in overnight from parents looking for a suitable tutor. As a real people person, and with the help of our marketing tools, you’ll conduct online activity and also get involved with community events to help you recruit new tutors and students to drive your business forward. You will use Opus (our proprietary end to end cloud-based management tool) to match new students with their perfect tutor. Late afternoons and early evenings are the perfect time for you to conduct evaluations with parents and students either face to face or via video call so you can establish exactly what they need.

Why School is Easy?

As a mother and a former teacher for 10 Years, I feel that School is Easy is the best opportunity for my family life and for my career in education. It gives me the flexibility to raise my children (I have a toddler and one on the way!).

With my background in education, School is Easy UK is a perfect match for me, not only can I work from home, but I can also continue to help students reach their academic goals.

I feel I absolutely embody the School is Easy UK values, and the team spirit motivates me to do my best for my clients and tutors.

Chris Wyle (Master Franchisor) and Donna Garratty (Franchise Development) introduced me to business concepts. They’ve been a guiding hand, helping and supporting me on my first experience in my own business. For me, they are some of the most open-minded, supportive people I know who operate with integrity and sincerity. I have learned so much about how to run a business - our regular team meetings are so educational and informative. The teaching has been so insightful, benefiting my business greatly.

For anyone who might be looking for a change or a new opportunity, I’d say go for it! The SIE UK model is a way of having flexibility as well as making a huge difference to young people in your community.

Why School is Easy UK?

As a current Franchise owner of Pitman training since 2014, I’m extremely passionate about education, and helping people achieve their goals to ensure they have a better future.

School is Easy is an extension of that and means that additionally I can now help younger school age children to flourish.

What I have found as a SIE franchisee, is that we have such great support in Chris Wyle our master franchisor. We have regular meetings and calls to share best practice, and to support our other franchisee partners, so even though we are on our own individual journey, we also feel very much like a team.

The most recent challenges with the pandemic have been a great learning experience for me, we had to change quickly into virtual learning so we could still provide tutoring to our clients. There have actually been a lot of positive responses to this change.

The support and guidance we received from Chris and SIE UK team was invaluable.

SIE is a huge opportunity for us all, especially as we are coming through the other side of the pandemic, the growth in private tutoring is incredible!

On a personal level, I’m excited about the future of this business and where it will take me! I know that we will continue to encourage and build on our culture of collaboration between Franchisees.

Vernon Brown

Vernon Brown is the Area Director for the two territories of School is Easy – SIE Hertford, Bishops Stortford and Saffron Walden and SIE Chelmsford.

Vernon has been involved in a learning environment for over 20 years. He started out as a Learning and Development Consultant providing management and interpersonal skills courses for businesses from a variety of business sectors. In 2000 he added an Outplacement and Career Consultancy helping those effected by redundancy get back on their feet ensuring they had the tools and skills to secure their next role. Over the last 13 years he took on a Pitman Training franchise in Bishops Stortford and then Cambridge helping 100s of people take their first step on the career ladder or change direction providing them with office skills training courses.

In his personal life, he is married with two boys of 19 and 17 and has been heavily involved in supporting both of them through the trials and challenges of primary, secondary and sixth form and the exams that come along the way. As the family ‘Education Minister’ he was heavily involved in supporting both through their GCSEs which involved liaising with teachers and sourcing tutors to give them every chance to succeed.

‘I think my experiences at work and home have both equally helped as I looked to take on the School is Easy franchise’ says Vernon, ‘I’ve always been involved in developing people’s skills, understanding the importance of both qualifications and experience, seeing things from the viewpoint of employer and employee and most recently being so involved with supporting my boys through their critical exams. I feel I’m ideally placed to take on the role of Director of School is Easy. It brings all the skills I’ve been developing over the years and can now bring to supporting parents and their sons and daughters as they tread the tightrope of GCSEs and A Levels and all the other exams and challenges that are thrown at them as they fight their way through these early years’.

‘The franchise is a proven model in North America and I’m pleased to be at the start of the journey as it takes its early steps in the UK and Ireland. As a team of like-minded franchisees with a highly involved and supportive Head Office team we are polishing and shaping how the business succeeds for us and for new franchisees as they come on board and new territories are taken on. It’s exciting times as you see each new part of the picture take shape Tutoring is big business and we bring something unique and fresh at a critical time for students who have been facing an unprecedented and challenging few years.’.
