Tumble Tots is a physical play programme for children from 6-months to 7-years. Our programme aims to develop children’s skills for life, helping them grow into confident adults.
Tumble Tots is a mobile hands-on franchise, which has been established for 40 years. We currently have 64 franchisees across the UK. Our franchisees operate in a dedicated geographical area where they deliver sessions in a variety of venues throughout the week.
We run classes at around 300 Centres every week and have a membership of approximately 20,000 children.
You will receive bespoke training in all elements of running a Tumble Tots franchise, both delivering the classes and business management, as well as on-going support from our highly qualified Head Office team.
As a franchisee you will be present in the classes on a day-to-day basis, helping to run classes and deliver excellent customer service to the children and their parents. You will also need to have sufficient time after classes to carry out planning, administration and local marketing for the business.
Franchising was an attractive option for us, as it gave us the opportunity to run our own business but with the safety net of an established brand.
Tumble Tots was our preferred choice because it had a strong brand name and we had seen the benefits our own children had gained from being involved in structured physical activity from a young age.
The fact that Tumble Tots were full members of the British Franchise Association and had a proven track record made our decision much easier and we felt our own experience and enthusiasm, along with the expertise and support of the Tumble Tots team made for a winning combination.
We haven’t been disappointed!

“Tumble Tots was our preferred choice because it had a strong brand...”
Before I became involved with Tumble Tots I was a full time mum with three children at home; two step daughters aged 19 and 15 and my little girl, who was 5 and starting full time school. I had already taken her to the Tumble Tots classes and wanted to be a part of that environment. The kind of place where children have fun and learn, where the staff have a genuine interest in the little ones and you have all the holiday’s off to enjoy your family.
I started working for Tumble Tots as a leader in September of 2004 and loved every minute of my job, so when I found out that a local area had come up for sale I knew that this would be my vocation. 12 months after first joining Tumble Tots as a member of staff, I was now the owner of the Franchise for the Wilmslow and Macclesfield area.
So 2 years later, have I achieved my personal goal? Well I hadn't really set my self any; I just take each challenge as it comes and enjoy myself. I think to truly love your job is a great ambition and one which I can say I have fulfilled.

I joined Tumble Tots in 1998 when my daughter had just started school and my son was 2. I had always wanted to run my own business, although I never knew what area I wanted to cover. After I had my own children I decided I could see myself working with children (something I had never previously considered), and when we saw an advert about Tumble Tots franchises we jumped at the chance.
I have never doubted my decision to take on a Tumble Tots franchise. I have the best of both worlds - my own business, with the back-up of a large organisation. The job is very fulfiling, different every single day, and fits brilliantly round the rest of my life. Watching the children benefit from the classes and develop is the best feeling. It's very hard work, but totally worth it!

My name is Kirsty Lydeard and I run the Tumble Tots franchise in the Sutton Coldfield area. Before I joined Tumble Tots I was a teacher in primary and special needs education. I really loved being with the children and seeing them learn and achieve different goals, but gradually got fed-up with the ever increasing paperwork associated with the job and the number of hours outside the school day I had to put in.
My own two children had both been Tumble Tots – almost 15 years before (!) and a friend whose little one had just started Tumble Tots suggested it might be something I’d enjoy….so here I am, now in my fourth year.
It’s great to wake-up and know I’m going to be greeted by all those happy faces during the day, to know that ‘my team’ enjoy making the sessions fun for the children and parents, whilst helping the little ones to master new skills and take-on new challenges, and they have fun too. It’s not all just fun of course, it involves lots of hard work, but it’s worth it, knowing you reap the benefits of your efforts. Class numbers have gradually increased and many classes have waiting lists … I’m even considering running a second van and opening more centres… watch this space!
