UK Business Mentoring (UKBM) provides mentoring support to owners of small and medium sized businesses helping them to manage, develop and grow their business – to ensure it reaches it’s potential.
We do this by firstly reviewing all aspects of the business which involves spending time in the business with the owner(s) and staff building a picture of the strengths and weaknesses of the business. We will then revisit and present our findings to the owner and help build a plan to take the business forward. This is followed by mentoring the owner, normally through monthly visits and will involve a mix of coaching, advising, training and recommending.
Our Vision
A company serving the whole of the UK recognised in providing professional, highly effective support to business owners
Our Values
We are very proud of and the fact that every one of our franchisees have bought into and live our values:
‘Our Mentors will always work with and for the client to the benefit of the business, and will at all times be honest and professional, act with integrity and respect confidentiality’
Client Pledge
‘We give a pledge to our clients that if they are ever not satisfied and feel the Mentor has not added value then they will not be expected to pay – no quibbles’
UKBM was established in 2009 and now operates across the whole of the UK. We have been franchising since 2017 as part of our growth strategy and joined the BFA as Associate Members in March 2019.
Our goals are to increase our coverage and availability across the UK whilst at the same time we are exploring international growth.
A comprehensive training package is provided and includes ongoing training, coaching and the support of your own Mentor. Franchisees are also expected to continually develop themselves and you will find that in this role, you never stop learning!
The training covers our unique processes including our copyrighted ‘Zulu Business Model’ and the skills of coaching/mentoring/business development/running seminars/digital marketing.
The franchisee package includes the following:
The team meet every two weeks on Video for updates, discussion and some humour!
Expected invoiced income (excl VAT) is as follows:
We are a franchised business that truly put our clients at the heart of everything we do and every one of the team, be they Directors, support staff or franchisees get real satisfaction from helping other people and seeing them grow and succeed.
One franchisee who joined us in September 2020 recently said ‘This wasn’t like buying a franchise, it felt more like joining a club of like-minded business people’
Working from a home base, initially the franchisee will be focussed around building relationships/making new contacts/partners and running seminars and webinars. As part of the franchise package, you will receive full access to vast amounts of material that you can use to run events, whether they be webinars, seminars or training events.
Franchisees are responsible for generating their own leads albeit an element of them will be generated by the franchisors website and marketing activities. The franchisees own marketing and business development is fully guided and supported by their own mentor and the franchisor.
Once established, around three days per week will be spent with clients at their premises with the remainder spent on client work and business development/marketing.
Paul Clarke – Manchester Franchise
I started my business life in the corporate world in 1984 and was fortunate to spend the next 33 years working with some great people and developing skills such as leadership, financial, sales and marketing and operational. I managed well in excess of 2000 members of staff in my career, working to £20M plus budgets and being responsible for 1000’s of business customers. I developed an extensive internal and external network which I support and call upon on a regular basis and my career gave me the opportunity to raise significant sums of money for local and national charities.
I took the decision to join UK Business Mentoring so I could use the skills and experience gained and share this with business owners to overcome their challenges to growth and fulfilment. The values of UKBM are aligned with my values especially our focus to add real value in a professional and supportive way which develops a long-term relationship.
I am delighted with my progress to date with UKBM which has exceeded both the initial franchise projections and my own stretch targets. What has stood out though is the support received to date and collaborative network I am now part of and contributing to.
Chris May - Surrey Franchisee
“I worked for a Bank for over 25 years and the best role I had was looking after a portfolio of small business customers, identifying their needs and providing solutions. I have always enjoyed helping people and I knew that this type of area was one I wanted to go back to later in my career.
UK Business Mentoring (UKBM) gave me this opportunity. I had a meeting with the owner, Joe Hinton, and it was absolutely clear that I had the same ethos as him and the company. The client was at the centre of everything and I could see the difference I could make to business owners using the processes and systems of UKBM.
The training was excellent, and the support has always been available when I’ve needed it. There have been challenges along the way but due to the great support I have always been able to overcome these.
As I progress to completing my third year as a franchisee my performance financially has exceeded both my expectations and those suggested by the franchisor at the outset.
I am my own boss, making my own decisions but with an excellent support network feeling part of a worthwhile team.
I am now working with around 20 regular clients and I am proud to be able to play a part in making and keeping them successful.
We have yet to have a franchisee wanting to move on – so none for now!
