SMART repair franchise Revive! has appointed franchising guru Melvin Lusty as a non-executive director to help drive strategic growth.
Managing director Mark Llewellyn first met Melvin over 15 years ago through the British Franchise Association. It became clear very quickly that they shared a similar vision and values, and Melvin has been acting as an unofficial mentor to Mark and his fellow director Terry Mullen for the past decade. He was the key speaker at Revive!’s annual conference last year.
Now Revive! has decided the time is right to formalise the relationship. The company has grown year-on-year since it was established in 2004, and Melvin’s considerable expertise in van-based service franchises places him in the ideal position to advise the Revive! board of directors as they take the business to the next level; he built the Rainbow International disaster restoration and cleaning franchise to a multi-million pound company prior to its sale in 2004 and is now chairman and majority share holder of Chemex International.
Commenting on the appointment, Llewellyn said: “I’ve known Melvin for a long time. I admire his business acumen and his track record speaks for itself. We get on extremely well and he’s been a huge help to me and the business generously giving us excellent advice and sharing his insights.
“We’re at an exciting stage in the development of our business, having placed a major focus on the importance of training and accreditation and driving up standards within the industry. Now we’re planning to build on the fact that we’re the leading UK smart repairer network to expand the business even further and move into new markets.
“Melvin has already built a much bigger, similar business and he has a lot of knowledge and experience that we can benefit from. I’m delighted that he is now officially part of the Revive! team and look forward to working more closely with him over the coming months.”
Lusty added: “I’m really excited about this new challenge and flattered to be invited to take on this important role. I like what I have seen of Revive! and am enjoying working with Terry and Mark on the strategic side of the business. I’ve watched the company grow and been impressed by their enthusiasm and energy.
“They’ve achieved a great deal in a relatively short period of time and I believe the company’s got a great future.”
