Capital Electrical Wholesalers™ [CEW] is a professional electrical wholesaler uniquely focussing on supplying electrical components and materials to electrical contractors, the construction industry & the DIY market. Operating from its flagship company-owned store in Greenford, London & a growing franchise store network, Capital Electrical Wholesalers offers trade counter, online ordering facilities & a same-day delivery service to predominantly SME electrical contractors. The business has built a formidable reputation amongst its core customer base for delivering technical advice, personal service & competitive pricing.
Our trade counters are open 6 days a week, offering personal service and convenience. We offer everything electrical, stocking a vast range of popular, quality products from the leading brands in the industry. What we do not have in stock, we can normally order and supply within 24 hrs.
CEW was established in 2012 by Marcin & Aneta Wickowski. Having worked as an electrical contractor in the U.K. for 4 years employing 15 staff, Marcin spotted a gap in the market for high quality, customer service focussed electrical wholesalers to service the growing S.M.E. electrical contractor sector. CEW has developed a strong reputation with electrical contractors locally for delivering a comprehensive product range and product availability, convenience, customer service, and competitive pricing – a combination that has served the business well as it has developed and grown.
CEW is a member of one of the UKs largest electrical industry membership buying groups, which is a compliment to the quality service and customer offering that CEW have developed. Importantly, membership involves passing strict, robust criteria and a detailed recruitment process. Operating the same ethos as CEW, the buying group prides itself on outstanding service delivery to its UK electrical wholesaler membership network. CEW franchisees will have direct access to this buying group.
CEW is a premises-based franchise, operating from secondary retail premises or from small business park/industrial units in convenient, accessible locations. As such, franchisees will require premises of 1,200 to 2,500 ft2. Whilst we are a wholesale business, its important to note that you don’t need to invest in large warehouse premises.
Our unique business model means we stock the most popular, fast-moving brands and products (cables, switches, lighting, tools, consumables etc) and through our supply-chain, we can order and normally supply customers within 24 hrs which reduces stockholding levels and helps your cash flow. Our tried and tested franchise operating platform means franchisees access the CEW brand, our business and support structures, training and all the business tools that will help you to succeed. This means that you do not need previous experience in the electrical industry – just a keen interest in learning, an entrepreneurial outlook, and a desire to succeed. You will need to employ a small, dedicated and knowledgeable team to help you operate the business
CEW franchisees will have access to extensive support to ensure you have full training and guidance from the launch of your business. You will also have access to our Greenford head office support team which helps with marketing, IT, supply chain and relationship management, stock range, stockholding and stock management, finance, and all-round franchise support. Of course, franchisees will also benefit from our franchise network.
CEW offer all new franchisees a comprehensive training programme. Franchisees will be trained in all aspects of owning and operating a CEW franchise. Training will take place at our Greenford store & in franchisees stores pre-launch. We are committed to working closely with our franchisees to ensure they are competent in all aspects of the business before opening. We will also be with you to assist & support you in the run up to launch and importantly, on an ongoing basis as you grow the business.
Franchisees manage and operate their stores daily with direct hands-on involvement in all aspects of the business. Franchisee will lead, manage, and motivate a team of electrical industry experts who will advise and assist their customers to maximise sales opportunities and grow profitability of their store.
Franchisees will be the face of the brand in their local community. Daily activities will include a mix of customer-facing, service focused tasks, office-based administration including business information, IT, stock management, financial management as well as marketing and business development. It is important that franchisees build their b2b electrical contractors customer bases and offer world-class service to grow the business and their reputation as the go-to electrical wholesaler.
