easyStorage is a member of the easy family of brands, offering a cheaper alternative to traditional self-storage. Rather than customers having to transport their goods themselves to a storage unit/locker, we offer a direct-to-consumer mobile storage solution.
Our bespoke vans deliver the storage unit directly to the customer’s door, along with our expert crew who does all the heavy lifting, packing the customer’s items safely and securely into our easyPod’s. The easyPods never leave the van and are then sealed on-site, before being driven back to a local easyStorage facility to be stacked and stored.
The easyStorage system avoids the requirement for our storage facilities to have lifts, corridors and mezzanines creating a higher utilisation of space per square foot within each storage facility, increasing efficiency and more importantly reducing costs by up to 50%.
It’s all about building scale and monthly recurring revenue that makes this an extremely attractive franchise. Our award-winning investment in technology, infrastructure and franchisee support affords our franchisees launch from a position of strength. Not to mention the affiliation to such a well-known and trusted brand as ‘easy’.
Our values support consumer buying behaviour through challenging times, leveraging our ‘easy’ brand and USP we can provide consumers with a low-cost, efficient, and reliable service that they can rely on. Our business has grown rapidly since inception and is now encompassing various other product lines capturing the entire storage market through containers, boxes, and document storage.
Storage is a growing sector with enormous potential. A Cushman and Wakefield report has predicted the global self-storage market will rise from £27 billion in 2018 to £35.5 billion in 2024. easyStorage has near full UK coverage, with opportunities still available in the UK and now internationally too. Our ambition with the support of our network of franchisees to become the go-to brand for storage worldwide!
Pre-Launch
Before each franchisee launches, they must complete two elements of compulsory training consisting of:
Post Launch/Ongoing
We have recently launched a dedicated Franchise Academy at our Support Centre; this is a training facility that hosts up to 2 training courses/workshops per month. We bring industry and sector experts to support our franchisees’ growth and understanding of both the storage industry and the responsibilities of being a business owner.
This also includes externally accredited courses, which include among others health and safety (IOSH, Red Cross), and financial management in both business planning and forecasting from our banking partners to QuickBooks and HSBC. For our operational teams, we have also held competency training for forklifts, and advanced packing and loading courses.
Beyond the external training courses, we use our Academy as a hub for all network information, hosting seminars and events tailored to our franchisees’ needs, giving internal news updates and bulletins when needed and supporting them with any new developments to our franchise system. This can include refresher training for their staff, to training on new features on our proprietary software VAULT.
easyStorage franchisees come from a variety of backgrounds. The network currently consists of multi-unit business owners, investors and individuals who have had highly successful corporate careers. We are proud that the easy family theme runs true as well, with father-and-son teams, husband-and-wife collaborations, and long-term business partners.
Three core elements support a successful easyStorage business – Marketing, Operational Management and Financial Management. Typically franchise owners start their easyStorage journey out in the vans, this gives them great insight into the business operation, working with customers and resolving challenges onsite and in the office. Whilst some franchisees grow a thriving business from this vantage, others have the ambition to build a multi-van fleet, across large territories. Either option requires the same mindset to be applied.
Drive Awareness > Meet Customer Demand > Create Raving Fans > Invest in Growth
The franchisor will support the franchisee in each area of the business, but it’s the responsibility of the franchise owner to be the champion of their own future, using the specialist tools, support mechanisms and technology as the vehicle for growth.
