Extra Help is a home help and domestic cleaning franchise established in 2010, we provide much needed services to local communities through our network of franchise branches. Extra Help provide general cleans, deep cleans, laundry, ironing, basic gardening, errand running, companionship and more to families, busy professionals, and the elderly. All our home helpers are DBS and reference checked by our franchisees to ensure they are suitable for the role providing peace of mind for clients and their families. Extra Help provide support to over 3.3 Million UK homes through their 33 franchised locations.
Extra Help has been franchised for 10 years, on the proven business model of founder Claire Robinson, Claire established the business in Plymouth and grew the first ever Extra Help branch. Extra Help has grown steadily over the years, making a good reputation for the brand and establishing us as reliable, trustworthy home help provider. Extra Help aims to be a ‘one-stop-shop’ of sorts for clients, supporting them with all their domestic needs. The franchise is family run Claire and her daughter support the network from head office, and her franchise manager Denise supports franchisees through training. Franchisees all receive extensive support and guidance not only when they join but throughout their time with the franchise. The head office team all have experience running and setting up an Extra Help branch making them extremely well placed to provide guidance and support.
Claire herself has an extensive background in franchising, having represented EWIF as a South West Regional Director, supporting the wider franchise community as CEO of The Approved Franchise Association, and now representing The bfa as Lifestyle Ambassador. Extra Help is currently a UK based business, but there is scope to bring the franchise opportunity overseas in long term, with the right people.
Extra Help franchisees are trained over 2 days in person, during the pandemic we broke this down into shorter 1-1 Zoom sections with head office. All franchisees are appointed a mentor to guide them through their journey with Extra Help, especially in those first few months, and franchisees will have a meeting with an external business coach after joining the franchise to plan their venture.
Franchisees need little experience, as full training is given, management experience would be a bonus but certainly not essential.
Franchisees will be expected to participate in daily marketing activities, customer sign ups, and frequent recruitment. Your job as the franchise owner is to represent and manage the branch, growing its reputation and client base. Franchisees are advised to meet clients face to face so an element of local travel is often involved.
