Our mission at Magical Maths is to help as many children as possible learn to love their Maths. As a Magical Maths Franchisee, you will be helping to achieve this goal within your area by assembling a team to deliver our well-established syllabus to primary-aged children.
Since Magical Maths was founded over 10 years ago, we have visited over 2,000 primary schools across the country and managed to inspire over 100,000 children by showing them how much fun can be had with numbers.
Throughout this time, the brand has been under continuous development through drawing on the combined experience of our franchise network, from how they deliver activities in the classroom to staff training and recruitment, resulting in an effective and simple-to-follow package for franchisees.
Since re-opening the door to franchising after the Covid-19 school closures, our network has grown to 13 franchisees operating in 19 areas around England, with the very first Magical Maths franchisees now owning the brand!
Our franchise training is focused around you shadowing and assisting the Head Office team as they take the lead in securing a set starter level of running after-school clubs in one school per day for your first term.
Your Magical Maths journey will begin with an 3-day initial training at Head Office, where you will be introduced to our specially built software, the Magical Maths syllabus, and all other systems and processes that you will need to be familiar with in the day-to-day running of your franchise. By adding demo school listings, taking real bookings, placing your first adverts for staff and selecting your first schools to approach, the idea is for you to have had a hands-on experience and be familiar with all aspects of the business by the end of your training.
Day four of your training will see the owner of Magical Maths join you in approaching schools to run your first clubs in. This gives you the chance to not only shadow someone who has been marketing to primary schools for over 10 years, but to have a hand at approaching schools yourself with the owners guidance.
Our Head Office team will then handle the following communication with these schools as your very first after-school clubs are arranged, allowing you to see the typical conversations that are had with schools during this process.
As your first clubs approach, our Head Office team will come and lead at least two visits to your schools that are designed to excite the children and leave them asking their parents to join a Maths club! By assisting in these days, you will get a hands on experience of how we generate excitement in a primary school and your very first bookings.
Beyond the first term, our dedicated Franchise Manager will meet with you every term to determine how to target your marketing for the following term, to ensure that you are approaching the best schools that work for your staff and achieving the level of success that you wish to see.
You won’t ever be going into a classroom to teach the children, long division, practise their times tables or work out complicated maths problems…
Instead, you’ll be showing a class how to square huge numbers in their head faster than a calculator and how to read people’s minds (and how to guess the age of their teachers!). You’ll be dressing up the children to host wizard duels, turning their classroom into a bowling alley, and even doing some origami!
It’s these tricks and games, plus the characters that deliver them, that have primary-aged children begging their parents to join a maths club as soon as they meet them from school.
To grow your franchise, you’ll be approaching primary schools that have been selected with our Franchise Manager and assembling a team of session leaders and assistants to run the sessions and deliver our Magical Maths syllabus.
