On March 17th 2002, Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries launched our very first childcare setting in Hertfordshire. For owners Mark and Rebecca Crosby it was the beginning of a hugely successful journey into the day nurseries industry. Monkey Puzzle now has over 65 childcare nursery settings and is the undisputed market leader in the franchised nursery sector and one of the largest nursery groups in the U.K. We have a true pioneering spirit, being the first to franchise day nurseries and continue to welcome like-minded business individuals into our family.

Training

We will provide you with access to all the tools you need to train and develop your team. Training and development is available in a range of learning formats from online to in-person. A full calendar runs through the year to ensure your team meet required standards through keeping certifications up-to-date date, are appropriately qualified and can progress in their personal development to further their career.

What will I do as a Franchisee

To become part of the Monkey Puzzle franchise you will need upwards of £150K liquid capital to invest which is circa 30% of project cost, with lending partners making up the rest of the total needed. You will also need the time and dedication to run your own business, but you can be assured with our highly experienced head office support team behind you every step of the way you can look forward to running a very successful and rewarding childcare nursery business.

You do not need to be an Early Years expert or have experience in the childcare sector, however this obviously helps. We have franchisees from all walks of life and backgrounds with the binding factor of wanting to own and run their own business in partnership with the knowledge and expertise from a national brand.

As a franchisee, you would be highly accessible and oversee the safe and successful day-to-day operations of the business. You will be responsible for recruitment and team wellbeing and will need to hire a full-time qualified manager and Early Years team to ensure both regulatory and Monkey Puzzle policies and procedures are adhered to. You would control the P&L, market the business through relevant channels, and strive to be a great partner of the Monkey Puzzle brand. All of this will be with the support of a fantastic head office team of over 30 employees.
