I am really excited to announce that HSBC is continuing to invest in its franchise business with the appointment of Marc Talbot as a Franchise Director.
Marc has worked for HSBC for 14 years in a variety of Customer and Head office roles. Most recently he was working for one of our Global functions responsible for leading the International Franchise strategy which saw us develop Franchise business in a number of overseas markets. Marc will now spend more time in the UK business working with Franchisors and Franchisees as we continue to support our customers ‘build back better’ during these challenging times. Marc has recently got married to his wife Lucy, has a pet shih tzu called Ralph and loves his golf (in priority order of course)
Marc said of his appointment, “I’m really looking forward to joining Andy and the team and trying to help build on the success the team has enjoyed over the past few years.”
I am hoping 2021 will be vastly different compared to 2020, but in some ways our priorities remain the same in that we want to be customer first in our strategic decision making. More Franchise clients with less managers may sound counterintuitive but we intend to increase the number of franchise only portfolios so we end up with more franchise clients with less managers, yes, but these managers are franchise specialists. Less is more.
Q1 will see the biggest HSBC initiative in the Franchise arena, not only will this increase the “noise” around franchising per se but confirm our continued commitment to the industry we love. Over 900 new Franchise clients opened bank accounts with us throughout 2020, I would love to hit the 1,000 mark in 2021.
Andrew Brattesani, UK Head of Franchising, HSBC
