The bfa 2021 conference is showcasing a range of experts & pioneering figures in the industry to address the most up-to-date topics and issues in franchising. The first day will showcase a panel, hosted by Pip Wilkins, which will explore the rapid growth of a ‘new normal’. Questions addressed include, will the future of our businesses continue to be reshaped through this digital transformation? Panellists are, John Spencer, NIC Services Group, Sarah Cressall, The Creation Station, Mike Graham, Chemex International, Ken Deary, Right at Home, Safwan Adam, CeX and Ross, WorldPay. Each day the conference will finish with a talk by keynote speakers, Tim Campbell and Linda Moir.
Panellists:
John Spencer, NIC Services Group, joining the panel, is Chairman to the bfa. John has been involved in the cleaning and support service industry for over 45 years, growing his business from a small family operation to a successful national facilities management company.
Sarah Cressall, The Creation Station, is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur, founder of The Creation Station in 2002. Sarah’s business offers over 15,000 children, families and adults, fun, educational and hands-on arts and craft classes, parties and events across the UK.
Ken Deary, Right at Home, is a Qualified Franchise Professional (QFP), a bfa board member and chair of the association’s Quality Standards Committee. Ken has over 20 years of experience in franchising, both as a successful McDonald’s franchisee and franchisor founder of Right at Home UK.
Safwan Adam, CeX, is one of the youngest members to sit on one of the BFA’s committees. Safwan acquired his first franchise, CeX, at just 25, has since expanded his repertoire and now runs a multi-unit company over multiple brands including Right at Home and ‘GDK’- German Doner Kebab.
Ross Fontella, WorldPay, has industry recognized experience working for some of the world’s largest fintech organisations. Currently leading Introducer and Franchise Team, he has extensive experience and knowledge working with partners to ensure the right tools and solutions to help SMEs achieve their ambitions.
Keynote Speakers:
The first day’s keynote speaker, Tim Campbell, will discuss confidence, good planning, perseverance, and the ability to build relationships. Tim confronts the negative mentality head on, arguing that opportunities will always exist for those with confidence, good planning, perseverance, and the ability to build relationships. He believes that everyone should have the mindset of an entrepreneur.
The second day’s keynote speaker, Linda Moir, specialises in implementing change within businesses and is well-known for her success at Virgin Atlantic as the Director of Customer Service. During the 2012 London Olympic games, Linda was responsible for organising 15,000 volunteer Games Makers, private contractors and over nine million spectators. The session will cover the culture of a customer-focused organisation and how change can be implemented to the benefit of the business and individual employees.
