Gas-elec, established 1996, is a gas and electrical safety inspection company. Gas-elec train one engineer to carry out both gas and electrical inspections in one visit. We have a two-tier franchise, with the regional management franchisee doing the sales and marketing and job bookings for the safety inspectors, who complete the inspections and remedial works.
Gas-elec are also Green Deal installers as part of the government’s new Green Deal initiative. Our network also carries out remedial works, giving clients a one-stop service.
The beauty of this franchise is that all the VAT, payment collection, credit control and debt chasing is done by the central bureau. The network then get payments twice a month into their bank accounts upon receipt from clients, making cash flow better and leaving them able to spend more time on their core skills.

Franchisees must either be gas qualified to CCN1 minimum and appliances or electrically qualified with experience.
Some training on appliances can be offered, as well as IT training, electrical training for gas engineers, customer service, basic health and safety, and accounting.
Daily Life of a Franchisee
The inspection engineers download their jobs after 6pm the night before, then carry out their inspections and sync back the test results to head office, who then invoice the clients on their behalf the same day.
The regional management franchisee’s office book and coordinate the work each day for the engineers in its region. They deal with the clients and do all the sales and marketing for the engineers in their regional area.
