Providing an innovative environmentally friendly approach to a well-established market, Envirocare franchisees run a busy, premises-based management franchise.
As a commercial grounds maintenance franchise, Envirocare franchisees employ staff who visit commercial locations up to 38 times annually, generating a regular monthly income throughout the year. The business focuses on commercial locations such as care homes, restaurants, hotels, office blocks, business parks, pubs, factories and many others, as the market has proven to be more stable than domestic gardening.
Envirocare was established as a business in 2005 and launched as a franchise following extensive development in 2010. The business currently has 21 depots trading from Southampton to the Scottish Borders but opportunities exist in most parts of the country.
Franchisees operate an exclusive territory which has been structured - following OS research on available prospective clients - to ensure that each franchisee has an equal chance of success irrespective of the location of the territory.

Franchisees complete an intensive 4-week training programme before opening their depot. Focusing on marketing, HR, operations, IT and H&S, the training is designed to ensure experience of the commercial grounds maintenance sector isn’t required. Envirocare is ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified. All franchisees are covered by these recognised certifications after completing the initial training course.
Ongoing training is delivered through regular regional meetings and an annual conference.
Daily Life of a Franchisee
Franchisees divide their time between managing their grounds maintenance teams, account management of existing clients, new business generation by providing surveys to potential clients and auditing the quality of the work completed by their employees.
The business is based from commercial premises but franchisees spend most time, once the day has started, out and about. The beginning and end of every day is spent at the depot with staff.
